That's a horrible thing to live with. I know that state — doors locked, hiding, petrified. Anxiety is an awful symptom to have to carry.
What helped me most was something strange: I learned to let myself be scared without feeling bad about being scared. For years I hated myself for it and called myself a weasel. Then I stopped mocking myself — and I found the fear wasn't weakness at all. It was real. It was information. Allowing it without shame took its power away and restored respect for myself
You're unwell, that is real enough reason to fear everything unusual. What's the hardest part for you when the anxiety peaks?
