Re: Tabaluga's

Got to do washing @Taali. The kitchen looks less like a detonation zone. About to meditate soon but priority is doing laundry and have a shower. I hope you enjoy your yoga class. What type of yoga do you do? Hatha, nidra, restorative or kundalini yoga?

Re: Tabaluga's

I don't really what type it is

It's through a mental health organisation called "Skylight"

Trauma Sensitivity Yoga

It's free through the government

I ask no questions as I'm just glad to access it.

Yeah a shower feels good 👍 @SmilingGecko

Re: Tabaluga's

@Taali thats not very good news regarding your electricity bill. I have been told you can get advice and support from your electricity provider here in Victoria if you cant pay. They have schemes set up for people facing financial hardship. I think they would have the same in South Australia. Just give them a call and explain you are on a pension and say you cant pay the bill. What do you think made the bill spike?

Ive had to use electric throws because I cant afford heating. I did use an oil heater once over winter without thinking and my heating bill was astronomical. I didnt think it would amount to that but it did.

I learnt about something called electric throws from an environmental scientist who explained to me the wattage is extremely low therefore it uses less power. They are a fleecy blanket with electrical wiring and you just wrap yourself in it to keep warm while sitting down

My bills never spike over winter because of it. They stay the same. Electric throws keep me warmer than a heater and many other people say the same thing. Knew one lady with several electric throws in her living room when people come and visit she was American and thats how she kept warm. She was on a budgeting group on facebook but everyone on there used an electric throw.

Have spoken to people at my electricity company who work from home wrapped in an electric throw at their desk. If that isnt confirmation I dont know what is. I'm wrapped in my electric throw now 💜

I hope they waive your bill. I'm sorry this has happened to you but you'll know what to do next time

Re: Tabaluga's

@SmilingGecko

I definitely used more power on heating and other appliances than usual due to post surgery confinements.

Well I have organised paying in 4 payments. Through PayPal.

Throw rug sounds interesting 🤔

I might google it.

Where would we be without google huh?

Not good news on a couple of fronts but am really trying not to let myself get worked up.

Breath I say to myself.

Almost cancelled yoga.

But I really must fight the temptation to lock do.

Oh well I'll have to see how that goes

What about you? Doing okay?

Up to anything else today?

I meant lock down @SmilingGecko

Sorry about that Taali 😕

Re: Tabaluga's

Hey @Taali ok well pay in 4 sounds more manageable with Paypal.

The electrical bills are getting worse with these data centers being build everywhere to power artificial intelligence. The general public is footing the bill for both water and electricity that is consumed by these data centers. We've had a new site earmarked for the suburb next to me for a new data center to be built. This is what has been happening in the USA.

The data centers are guzzlling water and electricity, enough to power an entire suburb going by reports I've read and the data centers themselves are the size of quite a few cricket grounds.

I checked on the data center map for Australia and yes a new data center is going up locally. The publics utilities bills are astronomical in the USA and the general public is paying for it in increased utilities bills because of data centers.

Getting back to electric throws I did learn from the environmental scientist on how to calculate wattage on my appliances. This is what she taught me. I posted it on the budgeting page here a few years ago. Its very easy to do!

HOW TO CALCULATE HOW MUCH MONEY IT WILL COST AN APPLIANCE TO OPERATE

https://saneforums.org/messages/1357729

The infographic of the energy rating on the budgeting page was lost due to SANE upgrades but it looks something like this and its how you calculate how much it will cost to run your appliance

Re: Tabaluga's

@Taali

Did you check it? We once got a bill hundreds of dollars too high and challenged it with current meter readings and the bill readings from before, and they dropped it. Just in case they did make an error.
