@TAB @Taali @StuF

Just got council rates $1886.90 😱 It gets steeper every year. They now have flexible payment options to pay fortnightly or monthly. I used to do that to space it out years ago but now its official they have an app that lets you pay that way. They never complained that I put in amounts each pension fortnight but I was able to pay it off ok ever since I moved here. We now have glass bin collection, plus official food waste collection that used to go in the greenwaste. They are doing a building hub in my township which is going to cost millions. The rates are high because is a growth coridoor. But yes rates getting ridiculous

Re: Tabaluga's

Just paid my quarterly rates to council.

Increased since last year, don't really know what they do except waste collection.

No concessions for DSP

And while on the topic of DSP payments, which only just get me by with a top up from my superannuation. The cost if MI is enormous with psych, therapy and meds $$$$

Wadya reckon?

Re: Tabaluga's

@Taali thats a shame your council rates does not offer a pension rebate. So you have rang the council and asked? It sounds unusual they dont have it. I'm in Victoria, might be different arrangements in South Australia where you are. We only get $270 discount which isnt much in the scheme of things. I dont do psychologists or psychiatrists anymore. Cant afford them but dont really need them. I was with the state run services before I got discharged 30 years ago. It just seems to get worse and worse this system. I'm attending a Zoom meeting tonight on a topic to do with the cost of living with a panel of speakers. Looks like they are trying to sell a product to people buckling under financial stress which I found very offensive. Its how some people get wealthy off the back of human despair

Re: Tabaluga's

Yes I can apply for a COLC payment.

I'll try to do it tomorrow when I'm in a better frame of mind

As for meds, psychs etc I see as necessary evils @SmilingGecko

The hoops we have to jump through hey?

Back in PJs not feeling great hon.

Re: Tabaluga's

@Taali Thats ok luv, glad you can get a discount! Listen to your body and rest. I dont push myself beyond my limits. Theres no such thing as being a model patient without human costs to wellbeing. Rest up and try and find a sweet spot in your day if possible 💖

Re: Tabaluga's

Thats good @Taali I hope you will be ok but I do understand how you feel. What I like to say is 'Pace yourself. Be Yourself'. I have suspected for a while you had not been well with highs. Dont know if sleep deprivation has caused your mood to crash lately but your forum community is here for you
