Ah that's great news! I used to get car sickness as a kid and hated sitting in the back, always made me nauseous, nothing worse hey? I am glad you did not have depression either - I suffered from bad depression for many years until I finally managed to kick it (briefly came back in part when I was out of work). Always remember, depression is a state your brain creates and it is subjective. You have many many positive life experiences you can substitute the darkness for, a little at a time, focus on those things. Ask yourself:
Remember, the quality of our experiences often comes down to the quality of the questions we ask ourselves, and in turn, what we choose to focus on. Think of it like a recipe - the right ingredients in the right order and in the right amounts make the meal a success. Its a process, it's not magic.

Experiences
We all possess a goldmine of rich experiences that continues to grow as we age. Each and every one of us knows of times when things felt better and we felt more whole.
The good news is those experiences are always there for us…if we actively look for them. I suffered from debilitating depression for many years and I can tell you, it seemed like nothing worked to stave it off. I also endured panic attacks which made me feel like I was going mad (imagine being in a room and literally feeling as if the walls are closing in on you).
I didn’t know the answers, but I continued to search and search. I never give up, never have and never will. There is a solution to every problem. Sometimes, that solution can be staring you in the face too, if you shift perspective and see it in a different way.
I am a polymath and I am grateful for that. It means I love to go deep on subjects and master them quickly. It also means I can “cross-pattern” reference and take things that have worked in one area of my life and adapt them to another. I think anyone can do this with practice, quite honestly, with me, it is really just how my mind works.
Many of us have been taught to shun emotions - especially us men. Emotions connote weakness in some, yet this is total BS (belief systems!). In truth, emotions can be your greatest enemy or your greatest ally, depending on how you perceive them.
If you experience depression, anxiety, panic attacks, I feel for you. However, consider this: Without experiencing depression you cannot truly know another’s pain. Without experiencing anxiety, you cannot truly know happiness. Without panic, you cannot truly know joy. This applies to all emotions - there is a good and a ‘bad’ side to all of them. Without contrast, we could not “see” anything. Does that makes sense?
In my own experience, I know my bad times have made me a richer, deeper person. I have become more compassionate, empathetic and kind. I have become a better listener and a better friend. This is what it truly means to be human…
So, the next time you are going through dark times, look for the hidden gems hiding within the darkness. You know the world’s largest diamond was discovered in a field in South Africa. In its raw, unpolished state, it looks rather like a lump of coal. Imagine what you could be missing by dissing the gifts you have been given. A better you is waiting on the other side of the pain, life just asks that you recognise, cut and polish it and then display it for the world to enjoy.
Your friend,
Icaruslanded

Yes thanks, my niece is getting appropriately care right now.
She seems to be working hard to overcome her demons and her husband who has been the perpetrator of much DV offences is behaving (after telling her to f*** of...) when she was in crisis
Has pulled his head in a little bit
Blurted that out didn't I?
Thanks for the beautiful affirmation @Icaruslanded
