Yes, it can be good having conversations ar the local hangouts... it reminds me I haven't been to the library for ages! I was a real booky person most of my life/// not the horse races...lol... I have a decent vibe at my local shopping centre. Its tiny and I have lived here for 25 years, so familiar faces etc.... but yes, you supermarket youtubes... a big reminder to buy smart ... and dont trust big brands too much.

@SmilingGecko @Taali Your acupunctiure sounds interesting. I have only tried it a couple of times. Mostly I have not been in the alternative health price bracket, but findsome of its ideas worth following up in my wholistic way... I used to do acupressure and a little tapping.

Yes it's $100 gap. And I have top hospital and extras cover, so understandable that it's not for everyone.

But I would highly recommended looking into it @Appleblossom

@Taali @TAB am not sure if I’m the only one but not sure why we cannot claim extras from private health insurance and Medicare for the same thing. Feel like that rule is outdated like gap fees are $$$$ now so not like health insurance is going to cover it in total and leave us with a bill of $0. The only people benefiting from this is the private health insurance companies at this stage 🤷‍♀️ and extras then not claimable. But maybe I should do more reading and the rule might make sense 🤣

No, you are absolutely right private health insurance as well as Medicare certainly SHOULD cover it all @Chasingsunsets

I’m just not so sure the rule is helpful @Taali and @TAB as we pay to have private health insurance yet can’t claim and I’d understand if gap fees were minimal but they are not minimal any more. Gap fees more that $200 after Medicare rebate. Very interesting right. Like back in the day Medicare would mean the gap fee was much much less and can’t help but wonder this was when the rule was constructed 🤷‍♀️. Beyomd me as the government is who made the rule but they don’t benefit from it as far as I believe it’s only the private health insurance companies. Anyway, I’m all for rules as long as they are functional and make sense this doesn’t make sense anymore and seems outdated. But I should do some more reading perhaps 😊

Although I'm now on a DSP I'm still reluctant to stop my private health insurance as I can't honestly risk navigating my way around the public mental health system

I think for anything it will have to be a policy change through the government @Taali tjis is my brief understanding. Not sure why this hasn’t already been brought up to them re review. Like all who appears to be benefiting are private health companies but again if there is a changes PHC will likely just out up prices i imagine.No real win with these things hey! 🙈. It’s alright if any one is resourceful it’s all of us here ☀️
