Something’s not right

Heartbreak

Heartbreak

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone is in good health. Just to express emotions that going through for the first time. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. Is it normal to feel this way? Why do society, family love, their integrity, age always comes between the true love? I share my story from start. I met a boy 5 years ago. Over the period of time we became good friends and housemates. He confessed his feeling to me but just because of my perspective and family issues I was not able to commit to him. I told him that to be friends. ( I guess that’s the wrong move I did) Later, we started getting close and enjoying each other company. He helped me to get out of my childhood trauma. He was always there for me when I needed. I fell for him. We still didn’t commit. Due to his work he had to move to another place and that hit me hard. I couldn’t move without him. Somewhere I was loosing him. Somehow we managed that phase. Then covid hit, I got stuck into my home country and we drifted. We couldn’t spend much time, we couldn’t be with each other when we needed the most. And I decided to move on. But he couldn’t. When I came back we behave like nothing happened and continue to be friends. But we fell harder over the time. We couldn’t imagine our lives without each other. But the question still stands, will we be able to be with each other forever? We have no answer because of our culture, family. Due to our age he was forced to get married to someone else through an arrange marriage set up. He didn’t ask me before he took any decision and just informed me that he is engaged. I was shattered. But I was madly in love with him. Even after the setup, we were together for 8 months. And those time I requested him to break off that marriage setup and be with me. I was ready to do all the things he wanted and he felt the same way but we were stuck with other stupid things that didn’t give us that courage to face our family. And just like that he left back home for his marriage. Since the day he left. Everyday I’m begging him to come back, ready to go against everything for love, for him. I tried really hard but still couldn’t fix it. I’m crying everyday till my heart is numb, couldn’t do anything, cannot sleep, cannot eat, cannot get out of bed, every small step is getting tough. Why do other factors always come in between love? I feel I cannot survive without him. How hard shall I try for my love? I don’t know how to handle or deal with it. I just went numb.

Thank you everyone for listening.

Re: Heartbreak

That certainly sounds very tough @at_51 . We are sorry to hear that things have not worked out. I hear that family and culture plays a big part in both families and so what you would have wanted to happen - can't.

I hear how much you are grieving right now. The pain and hurt sounds so raw right now.

Do you have someone you can talk to about what has happened? It may not change the circumstances, but it may support you in helping yourself at this time.

Please know you are not alone.

Griefline is also there if you feel you want to speak to someone 1:1.

Re: Heartbreak

Hi @tyme thank you so much for understanding.

we were so close to each other, that never felt to talk to someone else.

He was the only one I shared everything I felt.
I have no one to talk to. I still express my emotions to him.

Thank you for sharing.

Re: Heartbreak

I have had a similar experience. I got very close to someone, and then later found out that he was marrying someone else @at_51 . This happened over 5 years ago, and I was still thinking about it only yesterday. I was thinking... "What if??" It was a shock for me at the time, especially since he initiated the conversations, and getting close etc.

Nowadays, I think about it, but I don't stress over it. It is what it is. It really hurt me at the time, yet it's not something I'm going to stop living for. I just had to accept that that was his choice.

What's harder probably for me is that I still see him EVERY week. I see his wife and I see his two kids.

Consider how hard it would be... yet, I need to keep going.

I hear how hard it is for you right now. The question is, what are you going to do for yourself to continue living? Pining away at a loss doesn't change the fact that he's chosen what he's chosen. Don't stop living.

Hugs

Re: Heartbreak

@tyme sorry to hear that you went through the similar situation. thank you for sharing your situation. The same thing is happening with me. I will have to see him with someone else. But I don’t have that courage. I can’t move without him. I tried really hard to accept it but I just couldn’t. I don’t understand, what should I do at this stage? Even he wants to be with me but our family and culture is not allowing us. I don’t want to stop loving but being away from him is somehow stopping me from living.

Hugs!

Re: Heartbreak

Hey @at_51 ,

Yes, it hurts. Yet at one stage, one must move on in order to live.

I was very hurt when I saw this man move on, get married and have two children. To this day, I still ask why. It's not that I hate him. I think I still have feelings for him, but I've accepted the fact that it wasn't to be... and that's okay.

Allow yourself to live @at_51 . I recognise it is hard. I even went to this man's wedding. We were honestly so close... yet he made his bed and now has to lie in it.

Let destiny take control of itself. Don't punish yourself and stop living because of someone else's actions.

If you focus on the loss, you may never see what is right in front of you.

Hugs.

Re: Heartbreak

I know how it feel now @tyme .

today I got the reason to analyse the situation and to atleast stop troubling him.
I might live but I have closed all the way to my heart. No more feelings, no more attachments nothing.
I just want someone to hold me tight and let me cry for once and let get done.

are you going through the same?

let me know we got each other!

Hugs!

Re: Heartbreak

I hear what you mean by 'closing off'. @at_51 . I don't let guys around me much any more.... I mean, I talk to them, but I don't let them get to my heart. I feel like I've grown a heart of steel now to that nothing can penetrate it.

To be honest, I'm quite satisfied. I don't long for anyone to be around me anymore. I give my love to my nieces and nephews, and I'm happy with that. I give them hugs and kisses. I talk to them. I share things with them.

I don't think I have what it takes to invest in a relationship anymore....

I've become a career person I guess.

But I hear it takes time to adjust. When I try and book holidays and they have twin share, that's when I want someone...
