Re: 10th Procedure Done

Ended up being taken to ER by ambulance. I had a range of painkillers under my belt plus the trusty green whistle onboard before we were out of the drive way. Some hours later, a verk kind GP decided that my muscles were inflamed before they did the injections and they caused everything to be stirred up. He gave me some more pain killers and sent me on my way. I asked what I do in 6 hrs when they wear off and was told that they cant give me any to go home with, some rule/law about opiates and them being prescribed by certain people etc. I get that there was/is abuse etc. but now I have to be in pain because of it, it seems like they are punishing the wrong people. If you get addicted to the stuff they get you programs and all sorts but if you're in pain and need it they make it pretty difficult to aquire the stuff even from the one source but God forbid you cant get into your one source. Truth is Id rather not be on the stuff at all, I wish that I wasnt in pain or that there was a better, safer and all round good guy pain killer but there isnt. In the mean time, we have this shit, that no one likes except for those who abuse, I suppose. Being made out to be the bad guy because Im in pain and I need help, while those who abuse it have programs and supports (which Im behind them having). Why isnt there a safety net of some kind that allows you to get hold of sufficient pain relief to get you to your next doctors appointment in an urgent/emergency situation. Its not something you can get on a phone and talk though how your feeling and slowly be ok with being in agony, if you need opiate pain relief, thats what you need. You dont need to abuse it, thats a choice. I say that as a recovering alcoholic, its an illness but its also a choice and its a choice first and foremost.
