Supporting people with a lived experience of Trauma

Supporting people with a lived experience of Trauma

I'm adding this topic to ask for thoughts / suggestions about how the forum supports people with a lived experience of trauma - for people who have a lived experience of trauma / PTSD / C-PTSD could you share what you think might be working, what could be improved and what else might be useful for you?

In Victoria, SANE is part of the consortium designing the new Victorian Statewide Trauma Service and as part of that process we are particularly interested in hearing from people with a history of trauma.

Hey @chibam Yes I get your point also 👍

My perspective is coming from seeing some members who talk about their supports as being essential for them (and positive experiences) but then they do not do anything they have talked about to help themselves. This is very different for people such as you whose 'supports' contradict what you believe and whose 'supports' do not work with you or actually listen to you but rather try to force their views onto you. BTW I am so sorry that has been your experience chibam - you deserve to be listened to, worked WITH and supported - and I hope we are doing just a little of that for you here ❤️
