Something’s not right

Its just getting worse and worse

Its just getting worse and worse

I dunno all. I post here, but it doesn't help. I should probably stop.

My mental health issues are 'winning'. I've been missing days of work. Sleeping for a long, long, time. Failing to exercise. Can't socialise. My life now consists of sleeping, going to work when I can, and feeling sick the rest of the time (doctor says its stress related). I'm trying to break out, but am failing.

I'm putting up my hand for help, but there is none.

I'm sorry your feeling so defeated @Jlol 😔

You sound so tired of going through the perpetual motions of life.

Has your GP done any tests to rule out any physical illness? I only ask because my old GP kept brushing off my feelings of being sick so I sought a second opinion and turned out I was severely iron deficient.

Be kind to yourself my friend, when I feel like you do, I get all the sleep I can handle, try to eat healthy and walk to my letterbox and back if I'm not up for exercise but know I need it ❤️

Hey @Jlol

I am struggling too at times, I am right there with you! Life can get so hard!

Big hugs, thanks for reaching out, ah my heart really goes out to you right now. Sounds like you are going through a lot! I am here for you!

Sounds like @Ilovepenguins has a lot of wonderful insight, I agree and I can relate to your story as I was struggling this year as my mood was constantly up and down and I was having mood swings and feeling really low and down in life, one minute I was depressed and struggling to get out of bed and the next minute I was incredibly anxious. It made day-to-day life very difficult and I felt very alone because I couldn't understand what was happening to me. I had no energy to do anything and I was struggling to cope.

Finding out that I had low iron was a game changer for me, and now using my diet to prevent depression and anxiety was massive. Also eating good food is not only delicious but also a massive form of self-care and can turn a bad day into a great one. Something to think about?

Your well-being is important to me @Jlol, and I'm here to support you on your journey toward better mental and physical health. Small changes can add up to significant progress (you did an incredible thing by reaching out and posting this).

Have you done anything in the past that can help you when you are feeling this way?

Much love,

Melbcoffeesnob

Thanks @Ilovepenguins

Yes, my GP has been checking that. I've done a lot of bloodtests. The answer always comes back: "stress".

Thanks @Melbcoffeesnob,

The only thing I can think of is back when COVID first hit. I was working in the travel industry and got stood down from work. I was fortunate in that I was able to get Jobkeeper allowance and had a bit of savings.

For about a month it was actually good. I didn't have to go to work, no one was pressuring me to work, and there were no social pressures because there was nothing to do anyway. I felt I could breathe for the first time in a long time.

It wasn't all good and didn't last long but I think that was the last time I felt somewhere close to 'ok'.

By far one of the biggest issues that prevents me from getting on top of my mental health is the time and energy work takes from me. I work a normal 9 - 5 office job (more like 7 - 6:30 if you add in commutes and time getting ready). I simply do not have any energy left at the end of each day to put into hobbies, socialising, or looking after myself.

It's not like I can reduce work or take a significant amount of time off either - cost of living is through the roof and I have bills to pay. At the end of each week I break even with the bills I pay.

Hi @Jlol

I can see how the time you give to your job is really getting in the way of you having the time and energy it takes to heal. I used to work 8.30 to 5 but it was more like 7.30 to 6 with the commute. By the time I got home all I could do was eat and flop on the lounge so I totally hear you. I think I asked you this before do you have any ideas about how to try to find some more time. Such as working out a way to change jobs. I know that is most likely impossible but just wondering if you had any ideas about what your idea world could look like and if you can make some small steps towards achieving that.
