Re: Design, Layout and UX (User Experience)

I did indeed sign up through the Skylight page. I didn't even know that they were the SANE forums at all until it was pointed out to me. (Pretty sure Skylight previously had their own forums?)

I've emailed the team@saneforums.org with some screenshots if that's helpful.

I'd be happy to use the SANE version, particularly if it has access to dark mode. My eyes are hurting so bad. It's 2023 people. Dark Mode. Please.

I don't think there is dark a mode @deshift

I have it on Chrome but it doesn't replicate itself onto the forums. That would be a good feature.

Re: Design, Layout and UX (User Experience)

There is sadly no Dark Mode at this stage @deshift but it certainly has my vote for the redesign 😊

The SANE version is though very black and white so they may help a bit.

While I can update your account to link it with the SANE version, it will involve you having to log out of the Skylight version of the forums, then clearing both the cookies and cache in your web browser before logging back in ... is that something you are comfortable with?

@Snaffle-Admin Yep. Super simple.

Cheers. I'm glad someone feels the same way about dark mode that I do.

Re: Design, Layout and UX (User Experience)

Yes a big fan, dark mode is my default.

That's been done for you now @deshift.

You will need to log out, clear the cookies and cache, then quit the browser and relaunch... you should then be able to go directly to https://saneforums.org to log in

If you have any problems email team@saneforums.org and they will pass it on to me.

Re: Design, Layout and UX (User Experience)

@Snaffle-Admin All good. Too easy. Thanks for the assist.

However, @RachSANECEO the Skylight version was much easier and simpler to look at. The overall design was basically identical, but the CSS maybe is slightly prettier. More elegant, and less jazzy/funky.

What is this font?

@deshift Some of us also work full time and cannot reply as quickly as you have suggested you would have liked. This is a discussion Hub for all views - it is not about what someone's 'job' is but including all voices. You have clearly stated your views and that is great - it is exactly what these discussions are for.

Re: Design, Layout and UX (User Experience)

@deshift oh dear... maybe you can turn it all back off again i dont know. the font is DM Sans. you've got an ally in Zoe7 whose post was the first that raised to my attention when we launched the new brand/visual identity that it had caused problems for forum members, and thats why we are actually here now, doing this things. in scope is a change to look and feel - but rather than us just changing it again - we are talking about what, and how and why and what sort of member involvement and even member design and forum governance might help us avoid changes in future that create issues and make better changes for members.

Re: Design, Layout and UX (User Experience)

@RachSANECEO @deshift if you go across to where it says A and a little arrow, you can change the font.
