ADHD PTSD ANXIETY DEPRESSION ANGER

ADHD PTSD ANXIETY DEPRESSION ANGER

31 year old female here… diagnosed with the above. I’ve lived with it my whole life like everyone else has had to live with theirs. I duno how to start this off… I appreciate my life but at the same time I am so fkn tired and depressed and angry and alone, why do we have to feel this way? Medication after medication, I’ve got no friend groups, the only friend I have I think I’ve scarred/scared them to ever leaving me… what do I do? I don’t necessarily not want to be here but sometimes wouldn’t it be easier? I don’t want the couple of people I love to hurt forever. I’m just confused, I’ll re read this tomorrow and not remember what I’ve written. Any suggestions? X

Hello Mel08.

It is exhausting to endure what you are enduring.

in regards to friends. Why don't you just become your own best friend.

While you become unrestricted by your ailments you will attract rather than detract.

I hope this is helpful.

I have certainly learnt that during my times of feeling the same as you explained,

It has become apparent to me now that being a hermit, without friends, gave me the time to understand why I have what I have.

It just takes time to understand and let wisdom take over.

Regards

Wordman

Re: ADHD PTSD ANXIETY DEPRESSION ANGER

Hi @Mel08 and welcome to the forums. I hope you find it to be a warm and welcoming space.

Thanks for sharing with us a bit about what you're going through. I can hear how isolated you're feeling so I'm glad you've joined us - it's a super supportive community. Sounds like you've already tried quite a few things, have you got any ongoing professional support that you can lean on? More than just medications, having a good counsellor or therapist can make a world of difference.

I also wanted to check in, I know you say you don't want to not be here but it sounds like there's still thoughts of suicide and it's always good to check in about these things. Do you have support for when things get really bad? Or a safety plan perhaps? If you ever need to, you can always contact the following for 24-hour crisis support:

Lifeline: 13 11 14 or Crisis Chat

Suicide call back service: 1300 659 467 or online counselling

Samaritans: 135 247

If in immediate danger: 000

We're here to walk beside you and will do what we can to support you.

Thank you for replying to me so quickly, I’d like to be my own best friend but I’m somehow the enemy a lot of the time. Even trying to explain to people about ADHD, they think it’s a joke, sometimes I think the same that maybe I’m just making it all up. The one friend I have I am extremely worried that I’ve definitely made her think if she abandoned me then I’d do something. Now I feel maybe she’s just my friend out of that guilt. Wish we could turn our brains off and start again.

@Jynx

Thank you for your quick reply as well. I do have a regular mental health worker who I’ve stuck with for the last 5 years but sometimes I feel like we can’t go any further? Like I just keep repeating and nothing will change it’ll always be the same. I don’t want to go to another therapist cos then I have to start all over again… I do have but they’re already stressed enough with my stuff. I’ll have a look at the plan thank you.

Re: ADHD PTSD ANXIETY DEPRESSION ANGER

@Mel08 I'm glad you do have some support, though sounds like it is not quite enough for you right now. I totally feel you on having to start over, it can feel really daunting. But nothing changes if we don't do something different, you know? For me, I've found sometimes it's helpful to write a bunch of stuff down before first appointment - that way instead of having to draw on the memories directly, you are able to just rattle them off (or maybe even hand a piece of paper over). Building trust and safety with someone new does take time, but if you find the right person it can also potentially be life changing, especially if you have good resonance and connection, and they can challenge you in the right ways. Up to you of course as to when/if you want to take that kind of step.

@Jynx

I’ve just tried so many and it’s draining and expensive, especially around small country towns. Thank you for the suggestions I appreciate them.

Mm that makes it harder for sure @Mel08. You could also look into SANE's Guided Service, if you haven't already. It's free telehealth appts with the same counsellor, you can check to see if you're eligible here.

Hey @Mel08

How are you feeling tonight? If you are interested, I can link you to a podcast I listened to today that covers some of the issues you are talking about?
