Simple pleasures

Simple pleasures

Maybe we could start a thread for those “simple pleasures” that awaken our senses, bring us some joy/relief/comfort. Might be a silly idea. Maybe already a discussion like this. There was a discussion about what makes us smile awhile back. However I can see how it may be perceived as unhelpful for many. Just my gibberish again.

Re: Simple pleasures

Finding and lingering in a good second-hand book store… I must confess I love that somewhat musty scent of the place, especially archives, seeing all those books packed in together, and in some archives, there can be hundreds of glorious tomes with their spines outwardly enticing me…literarily enticing me…😊is that even a word? Just googled it. It is indeed!

And though we are in a totally different season now, and although we don’t have many deciduous trees where I am that shed their pretty leaves,

-falling autumn leaves

-The colour palette of autumn leaves

-The crisp and invigorating bite of an autumnal breeze

Re: Simple pleasures

I posted this in another thread but thought relevant to here as well…

- expressing myself through various art forms as I mentioned in a prior post

-running my fingers through lavender to release the scent

- perusing the aisles at Bunnings (seriously, they even sell worms there)

Re: Simple pleasures

-rock pools and the myriad of sealife they contain

-a large straw hat (otherwise I’ll fry and won’t be able to observe the seaforms that so captivated me)

- examining seashells with my daughter

Simple pleasure

Sitting down and having a conversation with my kids. I love it when their eyes light up and the smiles on their faces.

Simple pleasures:

- browsing the aisles of and Indian spice shop. Cumin, paprika, allspice, cinnamon, turmeric, cardamom, bay, cloves

- a brilliant blue sky

Re: Simple pleasures

oh @Former-Member I agree. I love different spices.

We had a beautiful blue sky today. Managed to sit outside in the sun and have a coffee. A simple pleasure.
