I too am very sorry and unhappy about the failure of the YES vote for the referendum yesterday.
I enjoy going out to vote - and yesterday was no exception - I chatted with a lot of people voting YES - and yes - I do have a story.
My adopted son was First Nations - and he has been included in the Aboriginal Deaths in Custody. It took a long time - years - to find the truth and the proof about his origins. His death was suicide - and our First Nations People's average stats for suicide are higher than the rest of the population -
So yes - I am disappointed that ignorance, prejudice and fear may have been the factors stimulating the NO vote.
Still - many of us votes YES - and this is a good thing
