Something’s not right

Not a boil

Not a boil

I saw my GP this morning and I asked her at what point do I go to ER and have this series of boils drained as its really uncomfortable and painful. She hasnt seen it so she decided to have a look. It didnt take her long to say that it wasnt a boil at all, not even a heap of boils like everyone else has said. She touched it and said its really warm and then said its cellulitis. Which explains why I feel so terrible.

She wants me to keep an eye on it over the next 48 hours, if it gets worse or stays the same then its off to ER again. If its not a fair better tomorrow Im getting Dad to take me to ER after he has gotten home from church.

I got Mum to take a photo of it for me, so we can see if its gotten worse etc. I cant see it otherwise though either, so when I saw the photo it was the first time I saw what was going on. Seriously it looks like a bumbag under my stomach, the swelling is huge. Its no wonder its so painful and so uncomfortable when I sit, especially when in the car.

I, I really dont know how to cope with all this anymore. Its just one blow after another. I seriously can not get a break. Shortly after taking the photo my Mum said about when my sister had this thing kinda like an abcess that she had to manually drain everyday. Then it was on about my sister had cellulitis a couple times and was in hospital. How draining a abcess relates to what I have going on I have no idea. My sister didnt have complications, she had what I have, but needed IV antibiotics which I may well need too. But above it all, why do we have to compare everything I go through to something my sister has had, even comparing two very different things.

Im so tired of being me, having to manage so many illnesses, generally not having cures just management plans. Having to weigh up every activity to determine if its going to cause issues with any number of my issues. If it does, am I willing to live with those issues that it causes or do I just have to accept thm as I have to do certain tasks regardless of how they impact me. I know lifes not fair but it does seem to me that life has take special interest in me.

Ouch @ClockFace That sounds incredibly painful! Didn't you have surgery on the boils? Or you went to get it drained or something???

Physical pain can certainly drain people out. I'm hearing how hard it is on your mental health. No wonder you just want to have a break from it all.

@tyme

Yeah I did. I get boils so often though that by the time one has started to heal another 2 or 3 are starting to hurt and I can feel a few more from starting at all. Lately though they have been less 2 or 3 and more 8 or 9.
