Nothing feels real

Nothing feels real

I had a migraine triggered yesterday from barely sleeping and still recovering from it. I slept better last night, mind still feels very foggy. This morning I felt discomfort in my body, my mind went to when I used to feel it years ago. Then I noticed myself feeling distant, sort of floaty. I hope I can get through the day today with uni

hi @creative_writer

I recently heard that adding a pinch of salt to your water, or tea, or even your cereal can greatly reinforce against migraine. It's a sodium thing... Probly even better if you use pink salt...?

All the best today. 🙏

If you're feeling unsteady please consider taking a sick day and laying down, huh?

Was talking about Dissociation with Redress counsellor today. @creative_writer Take Care but hard thing is when studying we do get focussed in our heads a lot. I found vigorous walks helped balance me whe I was at uni.

@Snowie @Kyle1 Good thinking ....

We have white and pink salt but I am switching to Persian Blue after seeing this ... not that we go thru a lot of salt. ... Isnt that a cat??? idk?

Low in Zinc used to be associated with some MH issues, not sure what latest research is ...

Re: Nothing feels real

Hi @Kyle1, I do tend to crave salty food when sick, I’ve sort of made the connection with salt before, I think I am naturally prone to low blood pressure upon standing. I started uni late, my mind wasn’t in the right frame. I’m slowly starting to feel my emotions, I still feel a bit blunted. Sometimes I feel like MH and/or migraines burn holes in my brain, my cognitive ability appears to not be quite right at the moment. Always feeling hazy and foggy. I hope you’ve had a good day 💖🫂

@Snowie 💖🫂. I hope you are doing well. Feeling a bit better, uni keeps you busy at least, even if it doesn’t heal it.

@Appleblossom, I was working from home so didn’t get the uni experience today, was too weak to go in. Maybe tomorrow, I do sure hope it doesn’t bucket when I’m out. I’ve heard about zinc, never tried it. I take magnesium everyday, I feel like if I don’t I spasm more, but then again it might also be the other vitamins in the migraine supplement too doing its job. I hope talking to the counsellor helped 💖🫂

My body still feels weird. I feel sort of hazy and unsteady. How am I going to make it to uni tom?

Hey @creative_writer sorry to hear you're feeling so ick. Could you email your teacher and let them know you're feeling this way, and unsure if you'll be able to make it? That way you can ask for them to send you anything you might miss out on and stay up to date.

Re: Nothing feels real

@Jynx, the benefit with my arrangement is that I can do everything I need from home even though that is not always the preferred option. I would have to let them know I would have to join virtually.

I think my emotions have left again

Oh that's good @creative_writer I hope you are still able to log in and take some of it in, even if you're a bit out of it.

Mm something our brains do to protect us sometimes. Or it could be that there's no emotions that need to be here right now.

Re: Nothing feels real

@Jynx, did my brain just react to body discomfort? I don’t even know where the discomfort came from. It may sound so weird to feel triggered by that, but it did happen

Re: Nothing feels real

Doesn't sound weird to me @creative_writer brain-body connection is very strong, much more so than we think. Could you do anything body-focused to try to instill some feelings of comfort, or change how you're feeling?
