Thank you for sharing @_PixieSolstice_ @Former-Member @Appleblossom @Captain24 !

For me, sharing a book, movie or song is incredibly hard!

I have to say that a book which was a real eye-opener to me and a made me reflect on my mental health and my practice was:

Out of my Mind - Sharon Draper: About a young girl with cerebral palsy who is non-verbal but has a lot going on in her mind. It shows he journey of strength and resilience. It reminds us that we should treat ALL people as human... not a number or a diagnosis.

That also brings me to another.... (I knew if I started with one, I'd keep going!!!!)

Different, Not Less - Chloe Hayden: Takes us on a journey through the mind of a neurotypical person. What are they really thinking? What does the world mean to them? Once you see if from their perspective, you will be on your journey to find what life means to you.

This book has been absolutely amazing!

Also, I love playing the song Warrior really loud when I'm in a mood, I find it boosts my ability to let go 😀

I'll have to check it out 🙂

thanks @tyme

I don't really have any movies or songs that I find have impacted on my mental health but there are plenty of books.

Two that come to mind are Dreams from my father by Barak Obama and The Happiest Man on Earth by Eddie Jaku. I have found both to be inspirational and that happiness can be found even in the darkest of days. You just have to fight for it.

@amber22 ohhhh do you have a picture of the book you mentioned? I certainly don't judge a book by its cover 😂 I'll just remember it better hahaha there have been some really good book suggestions here!

Celebrating Mental Health Awareness Month!

Our next question is:

What's one thing that always brings a smile to your face,

no matter how tough your day has been?
