BPD trouble keeping friends

BPD trouble keeping friends

Hi. Does anyone else have difficulty maintaining friendships? I’ve just lost another friend - possibly two - and am feeling distressed and anxious. Just lately I feel I am masking to present a happy, together person to the world, at the same time wondering if people can see I’m pretending and aren’t liking or including me. Thank you.

Hey @Former-Member ,

Good on you for getting out and about today. Even if you didn't fully enjoy it, at least you did it.

I also got out today. At 7am in the morning, my old neighbour asked if I wanted to go for a walk. So we went on a LONG walk. I feel so good after it.

What did you get out to do today?

A spot of shopping @tyme, a spot of shopping.

Sounds good @Former-Member .

Where I live, the Heart Foundation runs a walking group. As strange as it sounds, they walk an entire shopping centre - up, down, up, down, then they sit and have a coffee together.

I wonder if you have such things near you?

Actually, I have to say my local council has the most amazing services for the community and they are all free of charge. The council really invests in this area. e.g. kickboxing, dancing, craft, book clubs

Great suggestion, @tyme . I’m pretty sure they run something like that not too far from me in major shopping centre. Council does some things too.

Yeah, seek out what the council offers - just to get connecting with the local community. @Former-Member

When I do it, sometimes I really have to push myself. But i feel better after doing it which is good.
