Something’s not right

“I may be wrong, but… you’re WRONG.”

“I may be wrong, but… you’re WRONG.”

I need to stop thinking about work at random times of the night.

I have gotten a lot of clients asking for a particular statement at work. It’s a form that we have to fill out, as a company, and send to the government.

However, that particular department keeps telling clients that we don’t have to fill it out in that particular situation. It’s an exception.

The explanation of the form on the government website suggests that they’re wrong. The way the form is laid out suggests that they’re wrong. The clients suggest that they’re wrong. Every fibre of my being is convinced that they’re wrong, but I’m not trained in that department, so they must be right… I guess. It’s very frustrating. It seems like such a simple error that I must be missing something.

I have had situations where my supervisors have made a decision, using clear criteria, and every single part of the criteria can only lead to one decision. It seems like a judgment they can’t possibly get wrong, but they do.

It is infuriating watching people right before your very eyes make the wrong call and not being able to do anything about it. Thank God I’m not a baseball player.

How do you cope with that lack of control?

@florencefifty Hello. Your lack of control is insignificant in a system that many people find is wrong.

I believe you are correct to analyze the practices for the forms required to provide a service.

You have excellent analytical skills.

You problem solved a situation.

Present your idea to the boss.

If he accepts your idea, it will be proven to be the best solution for you.

Either way, you have developed a good sense of vision. You problem solved.

Keep it up.
