Paranoia

Paranoia

Hi,

I’m new here. I was given a diagnosis of Paranoid Personality Disorder a while ago. I would like to connect with peers who experience this… I’ve been struggling and seek support to help me through this.

Re: Paranoia

Hi @The_ruminator

Just saying hello.

I have opposite problem. Too trusting, needing to learn a little more caution and test the waters, before diving in, but dont want to go so far if it is paranoia.

Hope you get to chat with decent people .... there are plenty here.

Re: Paranoia

Hi paranoia,

Whilst this is not a diagnosis I have, I certainly understand how it feels to live with the experience of a paranoid state.

When this state becomes heightened in myself, my ability to differentiate between what’s real and what is not certainly exists.
Ironically I feel my brain is running faster than anyone else’s; albeit them on the slow train, whilst I’m riding the bullet train and it’s not stopping!

The resultant negative pain this seems to cause feels isolating, for I feel under attack, followed, laughed at, and watched.
More so, the experience equates to a massive sensory overload of everything; environment, people, voices, noises, visuals, the works.

I believe this state happens as a self protection mechanism when my stress levels are ranging too high and I know I have to retreat, hide away, be alone.
Until it goes. I don’t know if this helps you to feel less alone. Remember to he kind to yourself.
