Help me please

Help me please

I've been reading on help sites that someone loves me, needs me, has an organization that can help me, but that's simply not true. No-one loves me, needs me or has an organization that can help me. None of that was ever true since I was a child and I just can't keep going. I've had my paperwork done for a while, and there seems nothing else left to do. I hurt so badly because this is all just so unfair. Winners are chosen from people who have no conscience or human decency. Life is all just a bad, sad play and everyone plays their role. I didn't pick mine and I tried to change it, but no-one would help me. They were happy with theirs and that's all that matters to them. As long as others are society's underdogs. This pain is more than I can bear. I wish I could die from this broken heart. I don't want to keep going.

Still safe.

Re: Help me please

Not at all @Historylover - referring to the title of the thread in a sense.

Re: Help me please

I fully realize that it is not desirable to deter sufferers from seeking help, @Jynx, but being aware that not all have integrity is surely also desirable. I'm paying with my life for my trust and I'm not the only one.

If you, or anyone, can find me an honourable psychiatrist who is willing to help me, I will very gladly change my opinion.

Re: Help me please

I felt I was getting help from those who responded to my post with empathy and support, @Jynx. There's not much else anyone can do but respond in such a way is there? It helps enormously to know that those with whom I have been in communication over the past several years are there for me when I need support. I don't have anyone else—my ex-psychiatrist saw to that. That's what friends are for, isn't it?

Re: Help me please

@Historylover you said “I can't get peer support either. It's usually some little girl with a computer and she types and talks and pretends she can do both equally well, and she pretends that she knows what she is doing; even pretends she cares. I know what I'm doing and I can assess others' competence and intention very quickly. ”

I can’t possibly read this whole thread becsuse my concentration level is so poor at the minute but this struck me

i think that’s a sweeping generalisation and assumption

peer support may not be for you, but they are very skilled and knowledgeable still, and I think that’s kind of hurtful to those very skilled very helpful peer workers out there

like in all things, there are some that may be suited for something else, but a lot that are very passionate and highly capable

Re: Help me please

It is my broad experience and observation, @ArraDreaming. I wouldn't say it otherwise. And 'very skilled and knowledgeable', as you say, is a subjective opinion.

Re: Help me please

Ok if you don’t like it don’t access it, but I certainly would not be calling people pretenders and implying they are incompetent on a site for, peer support, thats the whole model of this place… @Historylover not being rude but I wouldn’t slap the hand that feeds you

Re: Help me please

@ArraDreaming, you told me to 'go away' recently. I did. I now ask you to show me the same courtesy.

Re: Help me please

this actually really frustrates me you are km here for support everyday and people peer support worker sane staff members included, really work to help you, and this is what you say about them in return

Re: Help me please

Without trying to escallate or aggitate anything going on here, for my two cents, I think it'd be really helpful if services and the various sub-jobs within them were all labelled with much clearer terms then (for example) incredibly vague labels like "peer worker". I think a lot of animosity comes from the fact that the services are so damned unclear, you have to be right in the thick of them before you discover that they aren't what your looking for. And then you have to worry about how you get out of them, which mightn't be easy at all.

There seem to be a hell of a lot of services out there that only seem to be interested in talking to suffering people, and nothing else. But few, if any of them, are marketed that way to the naieve suffering people out there who haven't gone down the road of help seeking before.

What I think would be really useful to a lot of people would be if there was some clear, no-brainer way to narrow down the services that actually remedy people's problems (or at least try to), so that people who don't want to "just talk" don't end up wasting any time trying to get satisfaction out of services that don't offer the help they need.
