Pain Returns

Pain Returns

For the past I dunno week or so, I have been in a lot less pain than I have been. I left it a few days to make sure it was all settled and I was actually in less pain. Then I started to help again, just doing the dishwasher and cleaning the kitchen. Today I woke up in agony, like Im shuffling instead of walking. I really dont know what to do with myself, Im in so much pain, Im spasming even when Im upright and I have been shaking in pain.

I feel like Ive gone back to the begining, like Im right back at the start. I feel like I am never going to be free from this pain. Specialist tell me that they can do this or that, but Ive been in pain for 22 years and its just getting worse and Im on stronger and stronger pain medication. I have complications from the pain meds and need to be on other meds to control them. If I ever come off the pain medications Im looking at months to do so. This last procedure put me in so much more pain and then I was ok for a bit, I started to get my hopes up and now this. Im pretty miserable tonight, I cant seem to escape this pain, I feel so hopeless.

O @ClockFace , I'm so sorry to hear this. Is it your back?

Chronic pain can be debilitating.

Hi, I am so so sorry.

The physical pain can be so excruciating and life-changing, but it's so hard when it also affects your will for life and causes hopelessness. I really hope that something works out for you because you deserve to live your best, healthiest and most peaceful life x

@Noels @Ellie11 @tyme

Ive got sacroiliac joint dysfunction and lumbar facet joint dysfunction and 3 buldging discs plus a few other things with my spine. I had the nerve branches in my sacroiliac joint burnt earlier this year which revealed the lumber issue. The pain has increased each step of the way. The pain killer Im on is really strong, it makes me really flat. I dont think it helps with my depression either.

I feel like Ive lost, the last procedure was supposed to stop the pain. I had my month check in recently and my specialist thought that the lack of pain was a placebo but I was able to manage my pain really well for like 5 days or more so I was confident that I had finally won. Then after a few days helping at home, which is dearly needed, I end up like this. I feel like a failure. The way my family treat me, especially when Im like this makes me feel like they dont care at all. They dont help me, Im shuffling around and no one thinks to offer me dinner. I have to do it all myself or go without. Its so hard to continue, to find the will to perserver.

Re: Pain Returns

I understand how hard it is. Just getting out of bed and having a shower some days is so hard. Are you getting Physiotherapist support. Sometimes the more we move the worse it is but the more we don’t is worse.Pain medication can sometimes be our enemy so push through and get the right support.

Take Care

@Noels

Ive been through physio etc. Its been 22 years. I had my nerves burnt about a month ago so Im still recovering from that. I have a excersise physio that Im working with. I try to keep moving as much as possible, Im pretty limited at the moment but Im up and down a fair bit. The pain medication Im on is a 12hr release so I take it twice a day regardless. If I werent to take it I dont think I would function at all. I rarely need extra, I did today but I put it off for like 6hrs.

Re: Pain Returns

@ClockFace it sounds simply awful, I'm sad to hear.

Do you think the brief week with less pain that you had could come again? I am sending wishes for that...

Re: Pain Returns

Having no support is simply terrible and you very much need it at this time.

If you have a pain medication that works then that’s good you sound like you need it. I hope you can get the right support.
