ADHD how to survive?

ADHD how to survive?

I am a pro ADHD guy in my early 40s.

My issue is I cannot do a one job for a long time ( I did 17 jobs in 15 years all in IT)
I want to become a journalist, police officer, event coordinator, fireman, lawyer list goes on.

I am stuck and I feel like a failure.

Sometimes I feel like ending this life, but again I know life is precious.

I am scared to grow old. I am divorced so I feel lonely in this country.

if you guys have adult ADHD like myself, what are the methods you guys use to overcome these symptoms? This boredom? inattentiveness?
I am so frustrated and overwhelmed.

any help ? 😞

Hi @ashmelb ,

Sorry to hear that you are struggling with your ADHD. Have you spoken to you doctor about it?

At the same time, we have awesome members who may be able to share their stories with you. Or, please feel free to visit Wait what did I come into this thread for again? Oh yeah, ADHD!

As much as I hear how much you are struggling with your ADHD, there are ways and strategies to help you manage day to day tasks. It depends on what works/doesn't work for you.

Some people like sticky notes, others hate them.

Some people like alarms, others find alarms stressful.

Some people break things down into 3 piles - must do within 1 hr, must do today, can wait.

What have you tried?
