That's absolutely great to hear. Definitely, NAIDOC week, Reconciliation week are so important. Schools are often looking for people to contribute. It would be great for you to reach out @ArraDreaming .

A few hundred kids sound like a dream school. Schools around 20 mins from where I live have 2700-3500 kids in them!!!! They need a few facilities/maintenance people ... but imagine all the things you'd have to deal with!

Did she end up realising who you were @ArraDreaming ? You'd probably changed so much that they didn't recognise you... and Jay? Work??? That would not have been heard of based on your reports lol.

By the way, remember you once spoke about that couple you invited to your wedding? Do you still talk to them?

in fairness if I looked after some kid who was absolutely ratchet and ran away and never went to school and always screamed at everyone, then approached me as an adult and said Hi, I probably would react like she did and pretend noy to know me either @tyme 😂

I think you had a lasting impression on that lady - not in a bad way, but to see how far you have come. @ArraDreaming . I would have a tear in my eye to see it.

I looked after a kid when he was 3 years old. A few years ago, his mother text messaged me and told me he had finished highschool, and was now at uni. She was so grateful for how I supported him in his early years.

That was so special to receive that message.
