Winter solstice

Winter solstice

Longest night of the year and the darkness and coldness have really hit. Things seem really bleak. I've been struggling for a long time and was pacing myself to this point but can't see beyond it. I'm safe but despairing. I'm trapped in a vortex of family dysfunction from earliest years and emotional pain, received and (mea culpa) inflicted. I can't help my closest sibling - all others are estranged - and I don't seem able to extricate myself from personal difficulties and dilemmas that at present ďefine me - I have no connections or other identity. I've lost faith in my mh team.

I guess the sun will rise tomorrow, and I'll keep taking one day at a time, but I can't envision a future, my future.

Re: Winter solstice

@NatureLover all the best for today. Yesterday was a rest/mental health day for me. I'm still not quite right. I've been having flashbacks about my recent illness. I feel like going back to bed but know I should try to do something and face up to complicated family stuff.

Re: Winter solstice

How was your rest day / mental health day? @Dimity

Flashbacks about your recent illness sound bad, I'm sorry to hear.

Is there a lot to sort out re your complicated family stuff?

I've had 2 very busy days. Quieter today thank goodness. A nurse appt at the medical clinic this morning got changed to next Tuesday. (Flu vaccination, ECG and heart check) So this morning will be some leisurely watering and laundry.

Good luck with your day...

Re: Winter solstice

I feel utterly fatigued @NatureLover . But I'll put on a lioad of washing although it's late.

The family stuff is just the continuation of the old sagas but it doesn't get any easier

Two big medical appointment cancellations in two days @NatureLover must be disappointing. I hope they can reschedule.

Take care.

Re: Winter solstice

I'm sorry your family sagas don't ever seem to improve or get resolved, @Dimity . Well, maybe resolved is too much to ask, but I hope they do improve.

I hope you were able to sleep and rest well last night. And that you feel less fatigued today.

Re: Winter solstice

Hello @NatureLover . I slept all morning. Still very tired and brain fogged.

Hope you're doing well.

Nice to have some rain yesterday.

Re: Winter solstice

I agree, the rain's nice for the garden and the trees.

Hope you feel like you caught up on some sleep.

Wondering if you're still in your slump and fatigue, @Dimity ...

Hope you feel better soon 🤞

Re: Winter solstice

Lurching towards another winter solstice.

Slump and fatigue? Yes.

Struggling to establish healthy daily routine (I need to start again).

Keep getting behind on chores.

Can't relax and unwind.

Fearful of sleep and dreams, yet oversleeping. Then can't face the day.

Tomorrow's another day and I'm wilting. Maybe this time will be better.
