Winter solstice

Winter solstice

Longest night of the year and the darkness and coldness have really hit. Things seem really bleak. I've been struggling for a long time and was pacing myself to this point but can't see beyond it. I'm safe but despairing. I'm trapped in a vortex of family dysfunction from earliest years and emotional pain, received and (mea culpa) inflicted. I can't help my closest sibling - all others are estranged - and I don't seem able to extricate myself from personal difficulties and dilemmas that at present ďefine me - I have no connections or other identity. I've lost faith in my mh team.

I guess the sun will rise tomorrow, and I'll keep taking one day at a time, but I can't envision a future, my future.

Re: Winter solstice

How are you feeling today, @Dimity ?

Do you want to clean / tidy with me today? (You also do decluttering, which I'm not at yet)

I've done one hour on general chores all over the house. Now taking a short break.

Re: Winter solstice

Hi @NatureLover I'm off to a very late start with a tummy upset. Well done on your efforts so far. Yes I'll try to tidy with you. I may have a visitor tomorrow so I'll have to make an effort.

Re: Winter solstice

Sorry about your tummy upset 😣

Thanks for tidying with me. Will you tackle just what's most urgent for your visitor?

I'm struggling with my second hour so have stopped for lunch. But I managed to finish tidying the bedroom.

Next is watering (not included) plus more laundry.

Good luck, and I hope you feel much better quickly...

Re: Winter solstice

@NatureLover I still haven't started... I'll do my exercises and start.

Re: Winter solstice

I know you prefer to work in the afternoon / evenings / at night @Dimity . Whereas I don't usually intend to work past about 4pm!

How is your tummy now?

I am struggling...I only just finished my second hour now (2.05pm). But I managed to clear the lounge-room floor of bags, and disinfect some library books.

Going to head straight into my third hour and see how far I get... 🤞

Good luck to you too.

Re: Winter solstice

Just finished my first hour @NatureLover which I spread across 3 rooms. Cleaning and a bit of sorting, so I have some stuff I'll put in recycling.

I'll get back to it after a short break.

You're doing well.

Re: Winter solstice

Well done, @Dimity !

I've come to a halt at 3.40pm. Am pretty tired. I worked solidly but can only add 30 minutes to my 2 hours of tidying today. I did other things like shave my legs and other things on my To Do list, but that I can't call "tidying or cleaning".

I need to sit down or lie down now for a while.

I'll check the forums later this afternoon / evening to see if you've checked in 🙂

Re: Winter solstice

2 1/2 hours is great @NatureLover . I did 1 1/2 but had to go shopping to feed my visitor tomorrow. I might get another 1/2 hr done this evening. I've partly cleared the kitchen table and dealt with more papers.

Re: Winter solstice

Did another 30 mins so 2 hrs today. Not a lot but the 6th day in a row I've done an hour or more, so I'm chipping away. Keeping up rather than progressing.

Well done, @Dimity ! 👏

That's good you've done 6 days in a row of an hour or more.

Thanks. I checked the forums last night at about 8pm then fell asleep. So woke up this morning at 5.

I hope your visitor goes well today...
