Winter solstice

Winter solstice

Longest night of the year and the darkness and coldness have really hit. Things seem really bleak. I've been struggling for a long time and was pacing myself to this point but can't see beyond it. I'm safe but despairing. I'm trapped in a vortex of family dysfunction from earliest years and emotional pain, received and (mea culpa) inflicted. I can't help my closest sibling - all others are estranged - and I don't seem able to extricate myself from personal difficulties and dilemmas that at present ďefine me - I have no connections or other identity. I've lost faith in my mh team.

I guess the sun will rise tomorrow, and I'll keep taking one day at a time, but I can't envision a future, my future.

Re: Winter solstice

Oh no, @Dimity !! Very sorry to hear! 😥

I didn't realise you were still in hospital. Oh gosh.

And did you injure yourself in the fall?

Re: Winter solstice

Thanks @NatureLover I seem to be coming good and getting better. Hope you and your garden are flourishing and work is OK. My family and friends although I haven't seen them often have rallied for me and supported me. I'm still a bit overwhelmed by everything but hopefully I'll reorient myself - I get lost - but otherwise everything going well. So many transfers over the last 3 weeks.

Take care my friend

So pleased your family and friends have rallied to support you @Dimity 🙂

And that you are getting better. Did they do a meds change in the psych hospital?

Yes, such a huge 3 weeks for you, gosh. 😥

All OK here thanks 👍 I left you a few messages on my thread while you were gone.

Thanks, sending care to you too...

Re: Winter solstice

Thanks @Former-Member I'm getting better day by day. I hope you've found a psychiatrist and you're coping at home with your furbabies (I badly miss mine).

Re: Winter solstice

@Dimity referral emailed by my local dr to another (2nd) psychiatrist recently. I’m now just waiting to see if I get any outcome.

I play croquet each Friday which I enjoy. Rest of the week I’m at home, unless I’ve got an appointment.

Cat at the cat motel (cattery) being cared for whilst you have staff caring for you in the hospital …. sounds good set up

Re: Winter solstice

Fingers crossed the psychiatrist can accept you and is good to work with @Former-Member .

Croquet sounds good.

How are the garden and curtain projects?

I'll have to start again when I go home.

Re: Winter solstice

Curtain project @Dimity ….. haven’t thought about that for awhile. Too bright and too much glare currently to do anymore.

garden …. On hold until the plants I want are able to be bought. I’ve got lots of cuttings from 3 different colour chrysanthemums in water, hoping they start to grow roots.

Im slowly working my way through each room, doing a thorough sort.

slow, gradual, taking each day as it comes and what it presents.
