Winter solstice

Winter solstice

Longest night of the year and the darkness and coldness have really hit. Things seem really bleak. I've been struggling for a long time and was pacing myself to this point but can't see beyond it. I'm safe but despairing. I'm trapped in a vortex of family dysfunction from earliest years and emotional pain, received and (mea culpa) inflicted. I can't help my closest sibling - all others are estranged - and I don't seem able to extricate myself from personal difficulties and dilemmas that at present ďefine me - I have no connections or other identity. I've lost faith in my mh team.

I guess the sun will rise tomorrow, and I'll keep taking one day at a time, but I can't envision a future, my future.

Re: Winter solstice

Getting hit from all sides is a good description of how things feel @Jynx Circumstances that led me to being triggered really knocked me. Everything else has jumped onto the end and keeps growing.

things to support,…. I have no idea. Being able to talk and not left feeling belittled is a huge help. Will take all the hugs I can.

safety plan is ok and, not surprisingly, features my 2 cats. Would definitely be worse off without them and would never do anything to leave them

Re: Winter solstice

just read about your S2's keratoconus, so sorry to hear!! @Shaz51 how's S2 handling it?
how are you going? 💗

Re: Winter solstice

thanks @rav3n , @Jynx

@rav3n S2 had a talk to his dad last night, he is very anxious about it all

good that he has time off from his job and not good to have time off as @Jynx would have the idea with adhd and asd

so hoping that will be resolved quickly -- S2 knows that it will not fix the problem but something needs to be done to help

Re: Winter solstice

Best wishes for your S2 @Shaz51 . A friend of my mother's had keratoconus and suffered greatly... it was many years ago.

Hope you're ok today @Former-Member @NatureLover, soldiering on.

Re: Winter solstice

@Jynx @Dimity Neighbour who is driving me to and from hospital said something last night that hit a cord, cant work out if he was joking or not. If was his attempt at humour, he failed. His comment was ‘straw that broke the camels back’ as the saying goes.

got my hair cut today which was nice. I’m someone who could sit all day whilst someone brushed or combed my hair. Had phone conversation with lady from Legacy who I’ve got to know quite well. Due to part of our chat she has suggested I start writing about the life of a grandfather. A man who was born late 1880’s, son of farm hands who as a child was taught by the owner of the property that persons colour or speech isn’t important, what’s important is peoples nature and how they treat others.
