Something’s not right

Out of control and so upset with myself.

Out of control and so upset with myself.

My psychologist has gone on holiday and I seem to have lost control over myself. I feel like I am digging myself a hole deeper and deeper. I have had some recent challenges come up and my reaction has been massive and way out of proportion. My emotions and thoughts are so intense and I can’t seem to calm down. I’m so diss regulated and I can’t make it turn off. I’m embarrassed and ashamed of myself that I can not act and behave in a calm and collected manner. My neighbours must not no wtf is going on as half the time I’m outside crying on the phone to support counselling services and talking really loudly about how fucked up everything is or because im having a panic attack or in crisis mode. I can’t keep a clean house, I’m so unorganised, im an emotional wreck. I’m a grown adult who is a mother. Why can’t I pull myself together. I just want to pull myself together! I just want to function and have power and control over my own life and destiny but this damn mental illness controls me! I want to be a better mum, a better wife and a member of society. I just want to function. I don’t think that’s to much to ask. I’m so ashamed of myself, why can’t I get my shit together! Why can’t I make myself do it!

Hi @Little_Leopard

So sorry it has taken me ages to get back to you.

I have been helping someone look at a tv. What a job that is these days. Tech overload.

Also we went to the cemetry to see my friends mother.

So l actually did not respond.

And that also is my weekend summed up.

You mention the only safe people are your husband and son. People did not understand me and pushed me to be social. I advised them, when going through things, i find it better to isolate myself or be one good person, in your case 2, because just do not understand how much effort it is to function and the last thing we need is to hear flippant ways to fix things.

Which in a way confirms l think we should not say much. Many do not care that much. So why open up? We know who really listens.

Safe and healthy relationships. Great goal. I still like to not say much and little about me. I like to hear how new friends talk about others. A pastor at my first chyrch said be careful telling others what you are going through. They will all have an opinion. And each week tge opinion changes.

Also for example if you say you are looking for a job. Every week, have you got a job yet? So i find peace in listenjng more and not telling others.

I apologise because l usually reply quicker.

I had to give my friend full attention.

Thank you for helping me write my 2nd book on this forum. Ha Ha.

Sorry about late reply. Nothing to do with you. I like to think when i write

Hi @Little_Leopard

I just got back.

I just sent my 2nd book to you.

At the same time i see @tyme checked and you replied.

I have to reply quickly to one part.

In the heat of my issues, l sat in my office with the air conditioning on.

So l also found the coolness helped me.

Amazing!

Hi @NatureLover

Thanks for sharing @Little_Leopard

I do enjoy the reads because they are Life Experiences.

You show a lot of empathy and compassion for someone who has been through a lot.

I congratulate you.

Some end up so bitter. Bitter does not help. It often makes us more like the ones we are getting away from

I feel like we have so much in common @NatureLoverwith some of our overlapping symptoms. it’s confirmation to me that trauma does cause these effects to happen. I see it over and over again with us trauma folk. It’s undeniable the similarities and affects trauma has.

Yes, true @Little_Leopard 😞

Thanks for your kind words.

I’m only at the beginning on my therapy journey. Still building trust and in the stabilisation phase which is taking a very long time for me.

Sorry this is taking a long time for you...but it is so important, the trust. Good luck...
