I want to run away from home but I am safe

I want to run away from home but I am safe

Hi, I want to run away from home because I keep on arguing with my mum and it isn’t fair on me. But I am safe which is a good thing. I might pack my things tomorrow and run away from home.

Hi @Sophia1998

When we run away from friends we argue with, we meet others or isolate.

Sorry to hear you argue with your mum.

I am sure she will always have the door open for you.

I hope you have a plan. Job, money, place to stay etc.

I was told house rules are my parents.

I just hope you have a plan or l hope you can learn to respect mums rules unless they are super bad.

Instead of running away can you stay with someone for a few days to see if your relationship with mum settles.

@Sophia1998

My answer really depends on how old you are, if you have a job, somewhere to go. If you are 25 (just a guess based on the 1998) then it sounds like you need to talk to your mum about the way you want to live as an adult, maybe negotiate the things you fight about and if that doesn’t work start to get things organised to move to a safe place.

If you have mental health concerns being near your mum might be really important.

Are the things you fight about because you are doing things that frighten her because they are not good for you?

Take some time to think about why the fights are happening and if it is viable for you to live apart. No need to rush the decision as you said you are safe.

  • I am 22 years old and I can’t take living at home anymore so tomorrow I might run away from home

Hi @Sophia1998

I like the inut you have.

Sorry to hear things are no better.

I do like @Flotsam view saying you are safe and take your time.

You would have considered options.

I hope you have thought of safe places to stay.

Safety is important.

I hope you have had a talk with your mum and find a place you are both happy

Hi @Sophia1998

I did mean talk to your mum and find a place you are both happy "living" together.

Maybe a good calm chat will help you both.

If you both are willing to compromise.

I understand the constant arguments are distressing. This is totally normal and it understandable that you don’t want to be always arguing.

@Sophia1998 If you can, and if your mother will listen, it is probably a good idea to talk with her about boundaries. You clearly need space. Maybe you can negotiate to be more independent while living with her.

If you could elaborate on the situation we would be better able to make suggestions.

Please stay safe and take care of yourself.

Hi @Sophia1998 ,

I was popping past and just wanted to check in with you to see how you are travelling.

I acknowledge it sounds like it's been quite tough staying at home.

Do you feel you have the ability to move out, rather than 'run away'? I curious to know what you hope to achieve by 'running away'?

Hope things get better.

I am sick of my mum arguing with me 24/7 and I cried today and I can’t take life anymore but I am safe.

I am not going so well mentally land I might just pack my bags and run away from home because I can’t take life anymore. I haven’t eaten anything at all today because I haven’t had an appetite because of how sad I am. But I am safe

My mum always likes to start arguments with me for no apparent reason and I have no clue why and she has done this my whole 22 years of my life
