Sudden crash in mood

Sudden crash in mood

I'm really struggling and unsure where to turn. I've been feeling ok, some days good and hopeful. The last few days I've had a pretty abrupt crash and while there's a lot going on, I'm not sure why. It's like I've just had enough. I'm lonely and feel like I'll be alone forever. Which I know is probably unrealistic. But I can't seem to rationalise myself out of this utter despair. I feel like a burden. I feel like I don't have close friends I can turn to. I've been supremely let down medically. I'm not working. I'm being diagnosed with some unknown autoimmune illness after realising I've probably had undiagnosed autism for 3 decades. So, yeah, I get that there's a lot going on that I can't really control and that is quite challenging. But. This abrupt change in ability to cope is staggering. I hope it will turn around soon. And it feels pathetic, to be this old and this unable to make myself happy.

P.s. cherry on the cake - my birthday is super close to mother's Day. Difficult relationship and she died 7 years ago, so, yeah, shitshow few days.

People don't realize that manmade and natural electricity goes against our brain and makes us feel depressed.

Re: Sudden crash in mood

Have you heard of Autistic burnout? It may help explain why you have been coping or so long, but that the stress of having to cope with everything has led to you being overwhelmed. You can find out more details by googling "Autistic Burnout". One website I found useful to explain it is https://autismawarenesscentre.com/what-is-autistic-burnout/

It sounds like you have many stressors going on at the moment and they all add up to make you overwhelmed. Taking some time to care for self-care helps your body and mind to calm from the overwhelmed state it is in. My favourite options are taking my dog for a bush walk, watching a movie, drawing a picture or having a coffee.
