How does this work

How does this work

I have Malens Babble thing where I post regularly, I know by regularly I mean a lot. Its better than posting like this because I would just take over the stream and no one else would get a look in. But I have one or two people replying but they are mainly mods. Normal everyday users dont reply, though when people post like this there can be multiple responses. I know others have streams but I never get notified they have posted

How do I find new posts on streams so I can engage with them and vice versa, how am I found? Doesnt feel like I am reaching an audience and I am missing out on content. How does it work?

Re: How does this work

Hey there @ClockFace - I can definitely see where you are coming from.

In terms of 'Malen's Babble', you are still posting there, but it seems you are renaming that thread each time you post. Up the top where it says "Subject", you can leave it as Malen's Babble each time. Yoy do not have to change it - unless you wanted to.

If you want to get a streamed conversation between people, you can tag them by typing "@" in front of their name. e.g. @tyme . Usually, you would only do this for people who have shown interest in your posts, responded to you in the past, or have 'supported' your posts.

So after each post you write, you can tag your forum friends in. Hope that makes sense. But definitely, keeping altogether in one post will help keep your current journey together for people to follow.

Let us know if you need any further assistance.

Re: How does this work

Hi @ClockFace,

I hear what you're saying about posts on new discussions being more 'seen' than posts on existing discussions.

New posts on existing discussions can be found in the 'Latest Posts' section. If you are on the homepage of the Lived Experience Forum (it should say 'Lived Experience Forum' at the top, have a search bar underneath that, then 'Latest Discussions'), go to the right hand side of the page. You should see a 'Welcome back, Malen' box, a 'Latest Discussions' box in pink underneath that, and then a number of headings in black. Scroll down until you see the black heading 'Latest Posts' and click on it (it should turn pink). Here you can see the latest seven posts, or you can click 'All Latest Posts' to be taken to a larger list. Hope this helps, and feel free to let us know if you're still having trouble with it!

Regarding being notified when there are new posts made in a discussion - I haven't done this before, but I can see there is a subscribe button on posts (go to the top right hand corner of the post, hover over 'Post Options' and click 'Subscribe'). I'm not sure though if this notifies you when there are replies to the post or if does something else!

Re: How does this work

hi @ClockFace

I think you can 'subscribe' to a thread. (?)

I'm fairly sure I've seen a 'subscribe' option around here somewhere...you might like to explore that.

Unless you're wondering more deeply as to the motivations of who, where, and why participation and interaction happens at SANE Forums?.. inwhich case, is a different can of worms...
