How can I repair things with my son after a BPD episode?
Hi everyone
I had a really traumatic event happen back in February and it has exacerbated by condition. I already wasn't doing well as it is, but, things got considerably worse. I resorted to self medicating again and I have just created so much chaos for my poor son. He just came home from work and he doesn't want to talk to me. I feel terrible. He is my world and I would do anything for him. We are really close and get along really well, but, my BPD is polluting our relationship. It is also harming his mental health. He self harms and has panic attacks.
How can I save my son from me?
Has anyone else seen their BPD affect their children negatively? What can I do to make it up to him? I've apologised profusely, as usual, but I think he's getting tired of my apologies, and I don't blame him as the same things always happen.
Any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated because I feel really ashamed of myself right now.
