Something’s not right

Atlas

Atlas

Atlas held the world on his shoulders. And this morning I've woken up feeling the same. But I am not Atlas. I'm just atomic mush... a skin sack of internal haemorrhage dripping sadness.

I don't know how long I can go on like this...

Re: Atlas

We're not Atlas, are we though, @Kyle1? I hope you can lift yourself up again soon. I'm treading water, myself.

We're having a delightful day here, today, weatherwise. I hope the weather is sunny for you, too. Can you go for a walk? Listen to some soothing music, take your mind off the sadness and redirect it. Gardening outside in the sunshine?

Re: Atlas

@Kyle1 I'm sorry you're feeling so low. You write so well and I'm wondering if you ever find journaling helps you? I know that's not the solution to all your feelings but it has always helped me.

Sending warmest wishes

Re: Atlas

Hi, @Historylover

Thank you for your kind thoughts. 🙏

I've been to my counsellor this morning.

I had a fun evening out last night.

But this noon I have some 'underwhelming' business I must tend to, and am feeling awfully fatigued. It is cold in Hobart today.

I try so hard to look for the positive in just about everything I encounter. And by positive I mean something that can be beautiful or lovely to me. Yet week by week it all seems to sink lower into a grey sea of apathy...

I've been trying to sing some songs I think are nice. I'm not a good singer, but I like to do it anyway. I learned a couple days ago it can stimulate the release of oxytocin, too.

At the moment I feel too miserable to even mumble, and gosh my head hurts!

Re: Atlas

It's miserable up here in NSW @Kyle1 so I can imagine it's way worse down your way.

Sing your heart out I say. I can't sing to save my life but when no one is around I don't mind letting loose.

Thinking of you

Re: Atlas

Hi, @hanami .

Thank you for the suggestion, though journaling isn't my thing. I did try it once, and grimaced 😬

I used to spend a lot of time writing poetry, but I can't seem to get there, either, these days... Maybe soon "all the tired horses in the sun" will shake the dust and run once more.

Kind regards.

Re: Atlas

@Kyle1 Yep sometimes it's hard to get motivated. I used to write a lot of poetry but don't have it in me anymore. When my anxiety was at its worst the only thing I could manage was to clean the house and put my headphones in and listen to podcasts. The people talking in my head took away the awful thoughts.

Re: Atlas

@Kyle1 🤗💖. Sorry to hear you're not feeling so good this morning, I would imagine Tassie can be quite gloomy in autumn and winter. It can be really hard to get motivated for sure when you feel so low. Sending you lots of positive vibes, I hope you feel better soon.

Re: Atlas

I know that feeling of feeling totally fatigued, @Kyle1.

For me, I don't bother looking for the positive in everything, I just let it happen and try to make something of my life—it's an opportunity not to be repeated. Some days go better than others. We all have our preferred methods.

I'm pleased that you had a fun night last night. More good times warranted @Kyle1.
