Nightmare.. morning exhaustion

Nightmare.. morning exhaustion

Good morning.

i’m exhausted.

so i looked up #mentalhealth on Insta. There was a suggestion to to a guided louise hay 30 days meditation re loving yourself in order to find a partner. Part of it was forgiving others.. seeing them smiling. Well that backfired. I had a nightmare about an ex from 3 years ago. I loved him (he was good in a lot of ways) but he was a narc and had no EQ what so ever. I dreamt i was at his house and a new girlfriend was there. It was awful. I’ve taken a calmative as I was very anxious and I’m exhausted and sad. It obviously takes me a long time to get over relationships. I’m sad. I want to be loved and love someone. No one seems suitable. That meditation just made me feel awful.

Louise Hay doesn't do it for me, either. @Down2

But I don't need her to have nightmares about my ex... Usually, she is smug and smirking in defiance of the lies and trauma caused me... So far, (and though I'm not a fan of it) medication has atleast kept me at a functioning level more days than not.

Sometimes, though, all we need is someone meaningful in our lives.

Hi Down2. Re: Part of it was forgiving others.. seeing them smiling.

From my experience, people are told to forgive others but do not really understand why.

Forgiving others is so you can go on. It gives you freedom.

It is has little to do with them because often they do not think they did or do anything wrong.

When you forgive others you realize you were the one stuck. No them.

They are getting on with their life without a care in the world and often we suffer.

Set them free. See if they come back. If not, it was not meant to be.

But do not hold on forever.

You are the one suffering. Easier said than done?

It is harder chasing something that is not meant to be than explaining how hard it is to forgive them

Not forget. Just forgive.

You will have more opportunities and if not, why suffer with someone who does not show respect for you or others?

So many different healing ideas do not work for everyone or at every stage of your journey. Keep searching for the things that help you, the things that work for you. I used to be able to do lots of things like meditation that no longer works for me.

I like Acceptance Commitment Therapy just now, and toxic positivity gives me the creeps. You don’t have to forgive anyone you don’t want to forgive.

@Flotsam Thanks. Are there any particular Acceptance Commitment therapy videos you like on youtube?

I purchased The Happiness Trap by Russ Harris, not sure about videos, there are probably good ones, grounding techniques are good.
