trying to ‘act normal’ literally drove me crazy.
Trigger Warning: Hallucinations/Delusions
hi, i’m 27 almost 28 years old. i was diagnosed with anxiety and depression when i was 14/15. i had times where i would black out and wasn’t in control of my body. didn’t really remember what happened. by the time i was 19-21 i was experiencing like almost hallucinations but what was happening was really happening. i was delusional, and paranoid thinking people were following me, i crashed my car because i kept looking in my mirrors thinking someone was following me. i had some days where i felt like an energised bunny rabbit and had the weirdest experiences, some of those times i would be on auto pilot like my mind left my body or i was in a trance.
or i would continuously talk and change subjects and not let the other person get a word in. my thoughts were just continuous and it’s so overwhelming i have to say it all out loud. i saw a dr and another and a psychiatrist and psychologist, i was diagnosed with BPD comorbid. ocd, anxiety, major depression, dissociative disorder, panic attacks ect.
i have been through a lifetime of trauma, things people have said anyone else wouldnt have survived. And yes that’s okay to say how strong i am. but what they don’t understand is i’ve been through so much my own mind leaves my body at times and i go through what i call are ‘episodes’ i literally feel like a crazy person on shrooms or something. that’s the only way to be able to explain the experience. but that’s the only way my mind and body survives, how does that make me strong. i literally feel myself leave my body and i’m still there but it’s someone else who takes the wheels but other times another person comes out and i have no control over that person and i actually disappear. and don’t remember what happened at all or if i am talking to those people and the memory sometimes comes.
lately i didn’t realise i was being manic until i was having delusions it’s like everything around me goes blurry and almost slows down completely i can just see a small path. and i need to solve a mystery or crack a conversation that didn’t make sense.
i just recently had a toxic person at my work bring up old trauma and i was slowly every time i saw that person going into an episode. i had to tell my boss all about my mental illnesses, my trauma and the things this person did to trigger me. and then it happened. i was gone, the manic disassociation turned to full blown derealisation and depersonalisation. i started taking my medication again 2 weeks ago so it will take a while for that to happen. but i need to see someone, i tried to get a referral from my doctor but i waited on hold to make an appointment for 15 minutes that’s never happened before and now i dont know if i can call again both mentally and physically and i just thought i wanted to share some of me to people who may understand, because i feel so alone and just a strange person
