Really not doing well

Really not doing well

I'm actually getting scared - I'm losing control of my life. This morning I woke up and had a panic attack, then just cried for 30 minutes.

I'm so scared of, well, everything. My job, my responsibilities, my partner, my body, my friends. It's really getting out of control - I'm worried something bad is going to happen.

It's gotten a lot worse since I wasn't able to get help at the hospital. I'm really starting to get worried for my safety.

My body is bruised and my ribs really hurt from where I've punched myself over and over.

What do I do?

Hi @Jlol

Sorry things have become so bad for you. It's not good that the hospital was no help for you. It is good that you are recognising how bad things have become. Have you thought about speaking to someone at our drop-in counselling line (email, phone, or webchat). Here are the details https://www.sane.org/get-support/drop-in-service.

I really hope things start to improve for you.

Warmest wishes

Hanami

Re: Really not doing well

Hi @Jlol,

I'm sorry to read things are so tough for you at the moment. It sounds like you are pretty overwhelmed. I'm also sorry to read that hospital wasn't able to better support you - it sounds like you could do with some professional support at the moment. Are you able to speak to your GP, or do you have a counsellor or other professional that you can reach out to today?

Just in case you (or anyone reading this) ever needs immediate support here are a few crisis services you can reach out to:

 Lifeline: 13 11 14 or Crisis Chat

Suicide call back service: 1300 659 467 or online counselling

Samaritans: 135 247

If in immediate danger: 000

In terms of your concern around your partner making claims against you / embellishing a story you may want to note each incident (including date, time and a description of what occurred). You hopefully will never have to use this but it might be better to have this information than not to.

I really do hope things get better for you soon.

Warm wishes,

FloatingFeather

Yes there is. But what can they do? I can't even see any of them because I'm at work. It's like I survive at home just to survive at work.

Feel like I'm imploding here. Really scared. Really worried. Chest hurts like hell from where I hit it. Really wish I didn't have to work and I had space to recover.

@Jlol

Might you have any family you can speak with about this? Or even stay with a while?

One way or another it sounds like you need some distance.

There are counsellors here at SANE. Just search the site for the phone number.

All the best. I can relate...
