Broke down during a job interview

Broke down during a job interview

I have no idea how I can recover from this one.

I've had an awful day. My friend told me she didn't want to go with me to the concert we were going to tomorrow. That I have had tickets for 2 years. The worst part of it was I wasn't even surprised, I'm used to being treated this way.

I had a job interview today, after another meeting. Turns out that meeting was rescheduled and I didn't put it in my calendar so I'm standing around looking like an idiot. I assumed i'd have enough time to go back home before my interview but I didn't. Which means I couldn't take my meds (for ADHD).

I completely froze up. I couldn't think. I just burst into tears. I'm so embarrassed. I've been looking for a job for 3 months now and I'm so tired of it. I know I'm capable but for some reason no one else sees that.

I don't know how to move past this. This feels like rock bottom.

Some days are pearls and some days are s4#t

Sounds like you had a real doozy, be kind to yourself. You did the best you could under the circumstances and you are a human being coping in the best way you know how.

Job interviews are hard for everyone, it is okay to say you are nervous and it’s even okay to say “I know I can do the job well but I am not great at job interviews. Good on you for showing up even though things weren’t perfect. Keep showing up and the right job will come through.
