Re: Anxiety

@Olga yes you have to see your GP.

If you're really bad tonight, go to the ER.

If that's not an option try grounding and box breathing.

And there's Sane Forums...

Re: Anxiety

True @Olga . Agree with @Kyle1 .

If it's ongoing, then it's definitely worth speaking to a doctor. There are meds you can take, but I guess it's good to try other strategies before meds.

Re: Anxiety

Has been going on for days and pretty constant. It's all I think about, distraction is difficult. I got a doc appointment Monday and lots to do next week. If I manage to do those things I might get relief by distraction. Let's see. Thank you guys. I will talk to my doctor.

Re: Anxiety

I believe there is medication available.

I suffer from anxiety and only taken a small dose of AD

My experience anxiety is not easy to treat.

There could be underlying physical problem for anxiety etc vitamin deficiency, heart problems or thyroid and others. A check up with dr and tests might help if there is an underlying cause.

Focus on reducing your anxiety by doing things that help with this. Managing you overall stress levels. Good nutrition and self-care. And exercise is very good, except when we feel that uncomfortable it is almost impossible to get out and do anything. Small steps forward and managing stress. Keep moving forward.

Re: Anxiety

Thank you @Dimity and @oceangirl. I am actually waiting for bloodtest results. I have a new job that I find stressful. If it doesn't improve I may quit in order to manage my stress levels.

Re: Anxiety

I’m sorry youre anxious symptoms have flared up with a new job ,change can do that when in adjusting ,the positive is that you are recognising what may be making you feel this way . Are you seeing a therapist ? Can work on calming strategies?

Re: Anxiety

@ocean thank you. I am in process of trying to have some sort of therapist. Still waiting. I try mantra strategies. Distraction is also a good one. One of my bipolar drugs is attacking my thyroid. It could be a hyperfunction but I am always prone to anxiety anyway.. Just not that bad normally. I try to take things one step at a time. Only think about today and maybe next day.

Re: Anxiety

@Olga mantras and distraction yes and in the moment, breath exercises. It's the body sensations that are more distressing for me. I do reflect on the serenity prayer...

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.

but lean more to the courage side lately in trying to make a difference if it's within my power.

Do family and friends know what's happening for you?

Re: Anxiety

I’ll have a look at mantra things but I’m feeling it is similar to repeating positive sayings.
