Cumulative or delayed trauma - are there such things?

Cumulative or delayed trauma - are there such things?

I just commented on another post, is there such a thing as delayed or cumulative trauma? Cumulative trauma would be just small traumas built up over time, whereas delayed trauma might be due to emotinal manipulation or gaslighting. I can see a lot of my problems have been accumulating for a long time, most people in life experience little traumas everyday but is this what leads to burnout and anxiety? Sorry if these are technical questions but I'm curious and have never heard of these ideas.

Some very good questions there @justanotherguy . Have you ever spoken to a therapist about what's happening for you?

Yep, quite a lot. But we spent most of the time figuring out how to deal with the local psych service, they seemed to have quite a bone to pick with me. Maybe time to go back.
