Consumer

I am brand new to this and so if I stumble a little or am a wee bit inappropriate or full on, forgive me. I'll try to be a good boy.

My family, which wasn't exactly perfect in the first place, exploded and pieces of it ended up all over the world. We tried so hard to look after our bipolar son(A CONSUMER!!!) but it was impossible. We reached out, no, begged, for help, that's all we wanted was a bit of help but it wasn't forthcoming. They said they would help us look after him "out in the community", but they didn't. They left us to our own, pathetic devices.

This was many years ago but nothing has changed. I left him and his mother to it. She sacrificed her way of life for him. It was the only way. His sister has nothing to do with the family now..

I could go on and on and on and on but I won't. I am the guiltiest man in the world.

I am also furious that one of the wealthiest nations on earth stood by and watched us and many more just like us, implode. Watch this space. I have much more to say.

Re: Consumer

Hi JAn47 ( @PeppiPatty )

Hey thanks for the compliment. you guys help keep me grounded too, but sometimes I need to back off (supposed to be cooking dinner!).

I'm sorry for your vulnerability, that can be hard to bear. But I've found it can be a surprising gift in the long term. I feel it has helped me to appreciate what matters in my life.

I just wanted to tell you that I relate to what you said about the rain and crying. A couple of years ago I went to my first spiritual direction session in many years, with someone new who I'd met very briefly once before. She asked me about my journey and I started telling her about the emotional abuse I'd experienced at the church I was at in Melb for 10 years. I was crying - it started raining outside (not softly nor a downpour) and I had the strongest sense that God was crying with me. I hope this helps.

Take care friend 🙂

Cheers,

Kristin

Re: Consumer

Hiya kristin,

Been out for most of the day and came home to find 20+ "LIKES" of my posts, from you. How nice. Thankyou.

Kristin, some time ago I tried to create a collective voice, as you put it. I got some dissatisfied people (Carers) together and made some loud noises.

I lead the cavelry with my sabre held high and yelled "CHARGE" but when I looked back no one was following me. I was all on my own.

I must have touched a nerve though because I was warned, in no uncertain terms, to back off, by some very powerful people. It's part of the reason (not the only one), that I ran away.

I am very tired but do think I have a bit of life left in me though. Finding people who will work with you and stick with you through thick and thin however, is very difficult. When the going gets tough, the faint hearted run for cover.

What about you?

Gray

I just looked at your picture with the baloon and all.

Is that what you really look like?

If yes, then I think you are beautiful.
