I think I was forgetting something important when talking with you @Loz_3647 . Now that I've remembered, I'm not sure how to adjust my course.
I've been asking myself how to get you "off the edge". But maybe, by doing that I could be .... edge shaming(?). It's occurred to me that, you may in fact be what's called an "edgy person". I'm asking myself, isn't dwelling on the edge part of finding the boundaries of our understanding?
Most importantly, if I am edge shaming, that would make me a hypocrite. Because I love the edge. I love knowing it, owning it and wielding it. Thing is, if such is so, so what? And, now what?
There should be some sort of briefcase full of data-based approaches. Mine feels a bit sparse and it would be a fun briefcase to fill.
Some preliminary thoughts....
...I've heard theirs on a study on heavy metal fans, and how they tend to be more emotionally adjusted. As a theory, perhaps we could put that down to .... edge capacity building (or something).
...Also heard in a movie or something, that intrusive thoughts are actually part of our risk management systems.
...Gestalt might have something to say about this. He was a bit of an edgy psychologist. The Gestalt system is also a bit of a work in progress. He's one of those intellectuals that started something and left it to the rest of us to finish the actual formula.
...https://www.youtube.com/@jREG/featured is a favourite edgy youtuber. I don't always recommend him. He moves back and forth from absurdist/nihilist edges very fluidly.
