Something’s not right

Hopeless

Hopeless

I feel like I’ve wasted 25 years seeing a psychiatrist who wasn’t interested. She has a big reputation and has helped a lot of people by going above and beyond. I think she did as little as possible for me. I’m not particularly likeable and I really didn’t trust my instincts with her and leave. It’s really hard to make evaluations about people with this illness. You just think you’re being paranoid. It was only when the s.it really hit the fan that I realised she didn’t believe what I was saying about my sisters abuse and I wasn’t protected in any way.
I always feel like I’m in situations that can’t be resolved .

I feel the same. Its like which ever way i turn, i hit another wall. Like life just constantly wants to challenge me, well not even that, like it is out to break me. and guess what it has succeeded. Its bloody hard. Im sorry you feel this way too.

True and thankyou

i don’t even think it’s the illness that effs me up

its the ridiculous expectations that there is a way of behaviour that’s acceptable.

If I’m mad let me be mad

Re: Hopeless

I think its a very hard thing to find - a professional who respects you and one you respect - yet this is the best basis for a relationship with a psychiatrist. This relationship is different for everyone. Some people will find a dominating psychiuatrist very helpful because that is what they respond to best. Others need to feel their psychiatrist is more "on the journey with them". I would say however if you believe your psychiatrist does not believe something you tell them, and she/he does not discuss this with you - it is a little concerning. This relationship should be based on full disclosure. As to being likable - I once had a psychiatrist who just told me - angrily/frustratedly- "I don't think I want to see you again" after I took some extra medications during a period of crisis. I quickly found another because I figured if he was that judgmental, he clearly didn't have much respect for me, nor I he.

I’m wide awake at 330am my thoughts are entirely negative. 3 nights of very crappy sleeps . Took a sleeping pill last night which didn’t work and felt nauseous today. I just took one tonite . Feel like crap my dads bday coming up I really feel like sending my sister a text about not ringing us to come in when he was dying. He died alone I can’t let it go. Sick of not getting validated by psychiatrists because I’m critical of psychiatrists with good reason efffffffffffing pisssssssec offffffff

3am and awake . Sleeping pill worked last night but I’m determined not to take one tonite.
sometimes I think the circulatory nature of my thinking keeps me awake and the fact that my psychiatrists can’t step out of the dogma and admit they did pretty poorly by me.
