What am I doing here?

What am I doing here?

I feel like the shell of the person I once was and supposed to be. At one time, I had it all and i was the one who was able to created such a life (I ran my own business, I had my dream job, i had goals and prospects) but then it all went downhill and i had a mental breakdown due to a very traumatic event. Just like many, I have been through so much and everyday is a battle. Its an internal battle that no one sees and i just end up suffering in silence.

I have been on a very slippery slope this month and struggling very hard to hold on. Ive got to the point where i barely eat and have lost a lot of weight, everything gets to me, i have zero interest in anything, i have no motivation, i worry and panic over things that are happening and even things that may happen and i now numb things by using prescription tablets or whatever else. I am severely depressed and my anxiety is sky high.

I get depressed because i have no friends and ultimately feel like i have no life, like i dont actually exist - i spend the majority of time by myself and that lack of social connection breaks me and even when my husband is home, i get little connection or affection from him (he cheated on me in september and i wonder everyday if i am enough for him, which i dont think i am and then i end up being a doormat to be trodden on constantly). I have no job and no money so even if i want to go do something, i cant and the financial situation just gets worse and my husband couldnt care less - he doesnt look at it in reality or logically. It all just feels crap and i really dont see a way out, well except for one way that is very appealing right now. I find myself wondering constantly, 'what am i doing here?'. I honestly feel like a ghost and more than often figure that it doesnt matter if i am actually here. I have had enough of this being my life and after so many days being wasted over thinking i could do this or that and then it all being knocked back down by reality hitting me in the face. So what is the use anymore? Why bother carrying on? The odds are stacked against me - i feel that is the harsh reality of things. Why would anyone want to carry on this life? a life that is utterly meaningless or pointless....I dont see a way forward anymore. I dont look forward to tomorrow or the next day because its all the same. everyday it is the same damn thing. It is driving me insane and i cant carry on like this anymore.....

Hearing you @Lozza90 ,

Unfortunately, many find themselves in a similar place at sometime or another in their life. I know I certainly have. When I think about it, it seems like a decade of my life disappeared to depression (amongst a number of other diagnoses).

Do you have any supports? Have you spoken to a professional about they way you are feeling?

Ive mentioned it but no one could care less and just brush it off. so whats the point anymore. im tired of repeating myself and so might as well just take it into my own hands...

None of it actually matters anymore anyway just like life doesnt matter anymore either

Hey @Lozza90 ,

Sorry it is so hard at the moment. I hear that. I acknowledge the challenges you are facing.

Yet I can also vouch that there is light. I've been down that dark valley and was stuck for many years. When you don't see the light, allow others to take you through.

Have you every asked the GP for a Mental Health Care Plan? This is probably the start. They will ask you questions and complete a questionnaire in order to make this plan.

Could you give that a go?

As for right now, if you feel like you need to speak to someone, feel free to contact:

- Lifeline on 13 11 14

- Beyondblue on 1300 224 636

- Suicide Call Back Service on 1300 659 467

If in immediate danger, call 000.

These services may not give you answers, but they are a form of distraction to help you separate from those intense emotions for the time.

You are not alone @Lozza90 . I'm hearing you and I'm sitting with you, tyme

Re: What am I doing here?

Ive been down a similar path before and then tried to get myself out of it, figured i could make it better and then it just got worse and worse. Now im back there but this time im done completely. I have a MH care plan and even thats useless. Im severely depressed and anxious. I have MDD, Anxiety, C-PTSD and BPD., plus suicidal ideation and self harm issues. Wont be contacting any of those as they are no help either. theres nothing anyone else can do and i cant even help me so....here i am at a dead end....

@Lozza90 I have seen a few of your posts around the forum. Sorry things are so hard that you keep wanting an out. I can relate to feeling invisible and not being a person.

It has helped me my sense of isolation to connect with people on here. Given me enough to feel like doing something decent.

You can tag people by pressing the @ button and join in on different threads or keep your story all together.

It would be hard to trust after an affair, so kudos to you to sticking it out. I am not sure that being enough is the issue. Not sure if you want to share about the event that destabilised things or even talk of your old goals and achievements.

Just saying hello ...
