Psychologist

Hi everyone, @Former-Member @Shaz51 @Peregrinefalcon @Jynx @PossumSocks @NatureLover

Hope your all well.

I’ve just had the worst start to my week yesterday I found out that I can’t see my psychologist anymore as she is moving on to another job at the uni. I have a psychologist I’ve been doing a cognitive assessment with so hopefully I can see him. I have an appointment with both of them on Thursday so I’ll find out what going to happen. I can’t believe this has happened though like I’m happy she has got a new job. I just feel a bit sad about it knowing how hard it is to open up to people and to have to go through that again is just annoying. Anyway thanks for letting me vent I needed this.

Oh no, @Birdofparadise8 ! That's terrible! Am really sorry to hear 😞

I hope you can lock in the new psychologist who is doing your cognitive asessment to be your psychologist. Crossing fingers for you...

Hi everyone @NatureLover @Former-Member @FloatingFeather @Shaz51

Just found out I can’t see the psychologist that’s been doing my cognitive assessment for some reason. So now that just made everything worse I’m going to have to find someone else now. He said though he can give me a referral so hopefully something will come out of that. I swear each day this week I keep getting worse news.

Hope your all well!

Thanks

Re: Psychologist

Oh no @Birdofparadise8 !!

Does your current Psychologist have any recommendations?? Maybe you need an appointment with them to explain your concerns. They may be able to recommend someone they think might be a good fit for you do a handover so you don't have to explain too much in those initial stages??

Thinking of you xx

Just watching this really creepy show called the watcher on Netflix. Just wondering is being triggered by someone killing them selves a normal thing. @Former-Member

Re: Psychologist

I have seen this show. It is creepy 👀

I think that these topics can be triggering for anyone, it is a scary and sad and people struggle with these kinds of emotions. I'd say very normal.

Are you ok? @Birdofparadise8

Re: Psychologist

I’ll be fine it’s just hard to watch it when I know how I feel about doing it and have those thought. Don’t worry though I’m not going to do anything I just don’t like seeing things that portray suicide.

Re: Psychologist

Hey @Birdofparadise8 ,

I'm just passing through and came past your posts.

From experience, I think watching things such as what you have described can trigger a response in the body.

To help it, I pretty much did not watch these shows in the evening or not at all! Not until I felt stable enough.

However, I can also relate to being drawn to solemn mournful songs when I was feeling pretty low.

So I guess to watch or not to watch is up to you. Depends on if you want the response that comes with it?
