schizoaffective...mania and depression

schizoaffective...mania and depression

Evening all,

Im just pondering this evening....its late, Ive got a major presentation tomorrow plus two appointments and I should go to bed but Im wired.

I became manic about a week and a half ago...it lasted about a week and was off the charts hyper....

I went from being on the point of collapse and total exhaustion to not being able to stop myself from going and going and going...

I was hallucinating really bad and having some pretty screwed up ideas....

I ended up going to my GP who PRN'ed me and I crashed...and I mean I crashed....like flat on my face not able to move crash.

Now Im just kind of inbetween but am getting caught in rapid cycling some days....

Its freakin exhausting......and to be honest...I was a little scared of myself.

That does sound very scary @Ayesha. Are you able to go back to the GP and let them know you are still rapid cycling?

Schizoaffective is a diagnosis that has been recently thrown around me too, but I am not bipolar type, just depressive type they think. I already have a diagnosis of major depression and schizophrenia.

@Ayesha,
I like Queenie have the depressive type, so I've never had mania before, but it sounds unsettling.
Are you okay atm? I really think you should go back to your GP or Psychiatrist and let them know how you're feeling - tell them it's an urgent appointment and hopefully they'll fit you in. It's better to stop your flare ups when they begin then let them go on as they get harder to treat.
I'll be up for another hour or so if you want to chat.
