Re: This feeling doesn't go away
hi @F96
Welcome to the forums. I'm really glad that you've been able to share how you're feeling here with us. Its an awesome community of people who really do 'get' how each other can be feeling.
I have depression and the low feeling can just be awful when it persists. I wonder if you'd maybe benefit from telling someone that youre close to about how you're feeling.. or your GP.. or even phoning someone like LifeLine or the Sane line for ideas/refferrals that could also help you. I definitely think that when it comes to feeling like this.. sometimes sharing can really lead to getting some support that helps.
Is there anything in particular that worries you abotu telling someone?

Hi @F96,
Welcome to the SANE Forums 🙂 I'm one of the moderators on here.. I just wanted to say hi and thank you so much for sharing what you're going through right now. It sounds like you're feeling so overwhelmed. Given that you're finding it hard to tell people, I think it's great you've come online to share. It's so courageous!
I hope that you get some guidance and support from the other members on here. Is that what you're looking for? Please let us know if there's anything else you think we should know or anything in particular you'd like to get out of the Forums.
All the best.

Re: This feeling doesn't go away
I empathize with you,I am suffering similar ,every week it's like a bad storm, and I am distressed.I say you need to talk to your GP,and take it from there and rule out whether it's depression,or a physical problem.

Re: This feeling doesn't go away
I have the same it can vary, depression or anything can be in many forms, not just a black dog following you around.I used to have a storm but now have the distress everyday, and crying when you go to sleep is a very awful way to end the day ,as it's a time when we have time to reflect on our lives. Not a good mindset for the next day.Vicious cycle. You say you only did it last night, dont get too stressed, but consider seeing your GP if you know you need it.As you said,I feel the trigger has been the rejection of your friend, who you confided in .The end of a relationship in any form is hard, but I find it is a lot harder when you are going through "headstuff".Try not to dwell on whatever reasons was behind it,friends come and go and you soon learn who is a genuine friend.I f you aren't yet ready for a GP just try self care tactics, such as exercise, taking time out to do something you enjoy, and practice being not too hard on yourself.Dont dwell on your friend.
I agree with the others, ring lifeline or just talk to a sane counselor online tomorrow, and there must be someone you can talk to.Sounds like you don't open up much and don't like putting it on anyone, like we all don't,but hopefully you have someone there who loves you in good and bad times.

Re: This feeling doesn't go away
Myself - I have depression and anxiety. Through therapy - I am definitely starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. But it hasn't been easy. It has taken a lot of hard work. Sometimes 2 steps forward and then a step back.
I wondee if you have a diagnosis or you see a gp, psychologist or psychiatrist. Only answer this if you feel comfortable doing so. No pressure or judgements here.
Personally I feel that your first step is to talk to your local gp. They have a lot more experience in dealing with depression now. They may refer you to a psychologist for 'talking therapy'. You can get these under a Medicare funded mental health plan.
Depression is not always for life. I've discovered mine is situational depression. So I try to avoid things that can set me into a vortex of depression. I also know who to call if this hapoens. Most of the time; I find I can deal with it myself - but only because I've learnt the techniques for looking after me.
If you are comfortable, I'm happy to talk with you tomorrow. It's after midnight here - so I'm off to bed.
I hope tomorrow is a better day for you.
