Working in mental health/struggling
Hello. I work in an acute mental health setting, and have a history of my own mental health issues. The last few years I have been doing really well, but I've had a bit of a difficult patch the last few months, with increasing anxiety, poor sleep, low mood, and increasing thoughts about harming myself. I am seeking some support around this. But this week I had to pull myself out of a real rut to get to work, only to have been repeatedly told that I should commit suicide by a patient tonight, for the second time this week. I'm usually able to brush these kinds of comments off, but I also got assaulted at work this week and it's all feeling quite overwhelming.
Does anyone have any wisdom around navigating these types of challenges? Unfortunately taking unplanned time off isn't an option currently, though I do have some holidays coming up next month.
Thanks in advance for anyone that reads this.
