Peer Group Chat // Sleep // Thursday 15th September 2022, 7-8:30PM AEST
Many of us can struggle to get the amount and quality of sleep that we need, yet sleep is important for our mental health and wellbeing. Not getting enough sleep can be an early warning sign that we might not be doing so well mentally. In this chat we'll reflect and learn about how we can cope with our sleep concerns, improve our sleep, and support each other.
In the group we’ll be talking about:
- What causes disruptions to our sleep (e.g. stress, our phones, nightmares)
- What works for us to help improve our sleep or cope with disruptions
- Further support that is available
For those unfamiliar to Peer Group Chats, each focuses on a specific topic and is guided by Peer Workers with lived experience of mental health issues and recovery. A counsellor is also present to assist in ensuring a safe environment for individuals and the group. It is a space for us as peers to share our stories and experiences, and connect with those who are going through something similar.
The event start times across Australia are below:
WA: 5pm
NT & SA: 6:30pm
QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC & TAS: 7pm
