Hey guys, had a few hard days over the last week or so, got an appointment coming up next month to get assessed or reassessed as the case may be so been doing some research on what's what, of course I'm no professional in these matters but from my own assessment it could be like schizoaffective with bipolar aspects or something, although this doesn't seem to be a very highly thought of diagnosis atm for some reason. The first person I really sat down and talked to about stuff suggested some kind of schizoaffective disorder for some reason though, hopefully not I guess but whatever, anybody got any coping strategies that might help get me through? Currently I find music quite helpful so maybe I could just stick with that, but if anyone else has similar situation I'd be grateful for any suggestions, thanks for reading this far, and just so you don't worry too much if that is your deal I've been living with this for a while and it hasn't killed me yet
Lol yeah it's frustrating to misplace important stuff @Former-Member. Yes recorder lol, it might be worth the aggravation, you never know. More hassles piling on for me but as long as I've got a plan or coping strategy I can deal with such things, it's the uncertainty that really gets to me lol

Re: Not feeling right
@Shimmer, I posted before and you may have missed it due to the lack of a tag, but I realized I neglected to mention one of my most effective coping techniques, and this is going to get a bit religiousy so feel free to ignore ;-). Of course for what passes for voices for me nothing beats music but for emotional disturbances and things like uncomfortable side effects I find meditating on the name of God very effective, and this can be done anywhere and a lot of the time, and this is the quote that influenced me to develop this coping method, "Armed with the power of Thy name nothing can ever hurt me and with Thy love in my heart all the world's afflictions can in no wise alarm me."

Re: Not feeling right
Hi @Shazab,
Glad you find music (listening and playing!) and meditating so helpful.
In terms of the time out, yes that does happen sometimes on the Forums (I've been caught out too!) - my approach is to copy what I've written into a Word document if it took a long time to write just in case I lose it.
When are you seeing your new psychiatrist?
