overwhelmed and sliding down the ravine
This is my first post on my first day on sane.org. I have fibromyalgia, chronic Fatigue , depression and anxiety. Several years ago after a series of injuries due to falls I developed Acute Stress Disorder, which i gradually got under control. I have a great psychologist, GP's,physio and masseuse/reflexologist and am on medication for my various medical issues. I thought I was getting it all under control. Then....
My parents are in thier 80's and my dad was diagnosed with vascular dementia and my mother with Alchemezeirs. I have 2 daughters who have inherited my serotonin deficiency and developed anxiety and depression, both at times have self harmed. The eldest is going away to Uni next year and is currently trialing new meds and getting the levels right.
I had been self-caring quite well i thought but the last week or so things just seem to be getting on top of me. I'm really struggling and feel like I'm sliding back into the ravine. I'm not sure why and I don't know quite what to do .
I've tried talking to a couple of friends but not getting any connections, just what feels like pats on the head.
My load feels heavy but I know other have it worse. Am I just pathetic and feeling sorry for myself. Or is there anyone else out there who has experienced this sudden drop, even though up till now you've been coping, without being able to isolate why it's happening now.
